We have stayed here before. The lodges are great value and the location is great for exploring York and the Yorkshire coast
A lovely setting and very peaceful
Close to York city centre
Our lodge as very comfortable
Would like to visit again
It would of been nice for someone to be there to hand key over rather than just being left at the gate when we arrived. Otherwise a relaxing place. Lodge immaculate and easy ten min bus ride into central York. Would go back
superb location, 5 mins walk to park and ride bus into york which runs every 10 mins and cheap, very nice surroundings around lodges
We had a really lovely week staying here. It's a perfect location for us to visit our family who live in York and with great access to the park and ride for stress free trips into York itself. Tesco and a Giraffe restaurant across the road and Lidl a 2 minute drive away! The lodge was immaculate and well equipped including a dishwasher not mentioned on inventory. We will definitely book again!
Beautiful lakeside setting. We didn't go for the fishing but enjoyed meeting those who did. Staff friendly and helpful. Ideal location for easy access to city centre and neighbouring areas.
We were disappointed no one mentioned the main railway line extremely noisy .The accommodation was also disappointing, the wall cupboards in the bath room and toilet stuck out so far if you tried to wash your face or clean your teeth you banged your head, the shower over the bath was so cramped with the plastic shelves and hand rail there was no room to wash properly. the drains are inadequate taking 20 mins to empty the bath , half the time the toilets wouldn't flush . Holes in the stair carpet ,stains on the kitchen ceiling , had to ask how the cooker worked as instructions had worn of knobs, the garden was an untidy mess, extractors in bed rooms are noisy and worn out , hardly any toilet roll ,less than one complete between 2 toilets for 7 people, not at all 4/5 star, left a day early.
Really nice views and quiet. The lodge had everything needed. Bedding and towels were provided. Staff were helpful but couldn't find anyone in the reception through the week however the owner could be contacted by mobile phone. Only problem i had was the bath too big and and took too long to fill and shower head didnt stay in position and had poor pressure. I would go back
Lodge no: 1 was next to railway line, a train every 20 minutes also through the night. Went away for a rest and came away suffering from sleep deprivation.
Location good setting good but should be cheaper due to setting of this particular lodge.
Nice peacefull site ... Fishing good for the carp angler ... Excellent location ... Lodge was okay Beds not that comfy and will deffo be taking my own pillow if I return
Not the cabin as discribed , we were the furthest cabin away from the lake and looked straight out to a big tree which blocked out a lot of the view and sunlight so not happy and also no veranda just a small decking area
fantastic time,we are going to book again for this September, near York ,bus from outside the grounds into York was £7.60 return for both of us,fishing was hard for the carp but the lake is fantastic.lodge was great (norvic),has everything you need and clean and tidy, the grounds are really clean, lovely trees and flowers.i would recommend here to anyone if fishing or not
Lovely place the lodges have every thing you need for a self-catering holiday like that they are dog friendly there is even kennels if you want to leave the dogs and have a day out with out them. Clean well maintained fishing lake my husband liked the separate fishing lock up with pad lock to keep his fishing equipment in . will definitely be going back.
What a very comfortable Lodge. Everything had been thought of, even down to some tea bags and a jug of milk for a very welcome drink after our long journey. We were left to our own devices, which we were happy about but knew that assistance was available should we require it. An extremely relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. Will certainly use again.
Excellent location, situated just outside York. Shops, takeaways and all other amenities within easy reach even though you felt you were lodging in the middle of the countryside with the location of the site around the fishing lake. Lodges were clean and tidy but only negative was that they fely slightly dated compared to other sites we have stayed. Overall though had very relaxing week.
