Corporate responsibility is something we take very seriously (even when we're having fun) because giving something back means we can have a positive impact on lives, jobs and businesses across the area. That's why we're proud that 80% of our 300 strong team are recruited from the local area.
We always look for ways to support our region's communities; whether that's through outreach projects, sharing our expertise, or training interns in a diverse range of career fields.
We’re passionate about supporting youth employment. All apprentices who complete our programme, and consistently perform to a high standard, are offered a permanent opportunity with us. We’ve developed our Digital Design Programme in collaboration with local colleges and, since 2015, we’ve taken on 25 apprentices across all disciplines in the company.
Sharing what we know through careers fairs, sponsoring local awards and talking in schools, means we can help a wide range of people find the career that’s right, improve interview skills and understand what employers are looking for.
In 2017, we launched our paid intern programme. Offering real-world work experience alongside a real wage means people can afford to train. We’re excited to welcome two young people on the first step of their career this year, and can’t wait to extend the programme further.
Right across our business, we recognise the importance of work experience for young people in school and those starting out in their career. Getting a taste for the world of work raises aspirations and increases employment possibilities. That’s why we take part in projects and partner with organisations like Life Skills, New Anglia Youth Pledge and the local Chamber of Commerce.
