This place has real potential. The main living areas have recently been decorated to a high standard. However, the bathrooms have yet to be touched and let the place down (one toilet didn't flush, one toilet seat was broken...). Cleaning of the bathrooms also wasn't great - a good deep clean would help to keep things going until the owners have the opportunity to finish their renovations. A few basic supplies would have been appreciated - there was no washing up liquid, etc. We therefore felt he place was expensive for what it provided. A few tea bags, a bit of instant coffee, a pint of milk and a small pack of biscuits as a welcome after a long drive would have been greatly appreciated. This is the first place we have ever rented which has not had a little something to make you feel welcome. That being said, the location was lovely and the view was fantastic. Our holiday was very enjoyable and we would recommend the Lakes.

We did like the property. The beds could have been more comfortable. We had bad backs after the week. We are used to memory foam mattresses at home.!!! The chairs and setee springs have gone so very low down and quite uncomfortable. Apart from these issues the place was good and we enjoyed our time at Broomriggs. Thank you.

The house was excellent and just as good as in the photos. The bedrooms, kitchen and sitting room were very well appointed and the dining area in the bay window was lovely. Our only criticism would be that the bathrooms were tired and in need of renovation, with one of the shower trays leaking and the lino lifting. The outlook and view over the lake were amazing and the gardens stunning - well done Alan! It was also lovely having the use of a rowing boat to take out on the lake and see the ospreys. For those with limited mobility the location could be tricky as the drive was very steep and difficult without a car.

We know this area of the English Lakes well. This was our first visit to Broomriggs, in perfect weather. We will want to stay there again

Wonderful accommodation. The bay window and its views are worth the money itself. Stayed here previously when the kitchen was a ‘cupboard’. The new kitchen is much improved and high quality. (A couple of extra saucepans would be useful.)

This was our third holiday at Broomriggs stopping in a different apartment each time. It is a lovely location - quiet, tranquil and peaceful - with stunning views. There are a lot of gardens and grounds to explore at the house itself. We particularly love this area of the Lake District and there is good walking on the doorstep and plenty of places to visit nearby - Hill Top, Claife Viewing Station, Wray Castle, Esthwaite, Coniston, Brantwood, Tarn Hows, High Dam, Hawkshead etc. In addition it is not far to Ambleside, Langdale and Grasmere. We enjoyed meals at The Red Lion and Kings Arms in Hawkshead and on past holidays have also enjoyed the delicious food at The Tower Bank Arms.
