This is an ideal holiday cottage for two families in a stunning cliff top location with a peaceful rural setting. There is a beach below the cliffs and access is limited and at the guest’s own risk. The property offers a twin room on the ground floor two doubles with en suites on the first floor and a double bunk room on the same level. The location moments from the cliff tops means that there is a wonderful variety of birds to be spotted around the area. These include swallows skylarks kestrels and peregrine falcons with an occasional osprey and if you are lucky you may even see a seal nicknamed Sammy by the locals out in the water. Although not here today there used to be a lifeboat station close to the row of cottages. The waters in front of the cottages have seen hundreds of shipwrecks and at low tide you may be able to see the winch of the Zeemansblik the last vessel to be wrecked here in 1963. \nBrook Beach and Compton Bay some of the island’s best kept secrets are close by where the beaches stretch for miles with contrasting golden and dark sands rolling seas and a stunning backdrop of multi-coloured sandstone cliffs making them popular with surfers and fossil hunters. You can book tours on the beach to see the dinosaur footprints in the sandstone ledge at Hanover Point at low tide an area formed from a prehistoric fossilised forest. The island has become a real hot spot for cycling enthusiasts with a choice of challenging off road bridleways peaceful byways and level purpose-made tracks running along former railway lines. You can choose to take on the full round the island route which is 66 miles long and is used for the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee held over the May bank holiday. Travel along the route at a more leisurely pace and along the way you will find numerous restaurants pubs and cafés serving tasty local produce amongst the quaint villages and towns. Sea and cliff walks can be found along the coastal paths in both directions from the property and outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding fishing cycling paragliding water sports and golf.\nThere are numerous attractions to discover for all ages on this beautiful sunny island. The Needles Landmark attraction is a must see and is a short distance away to the west with its chairlift amusement park boat rides lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Why not pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence Osborne House and its gardens perhaps Blackgang Chine which is the oldest themed attraction in the UK Ventnor Botanical Gardens Tapnell Farm Park Carisbrooke Castle or the world renowned sailing town of Cowes. Whatever you decide one things for sure the Isle of Wight has plenty to offer for everyone. Beach 200 yards. Shop pub and restaurant 3 miles. \n " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/105/840/10591179.jpg UKC3317

Amazing location, stunning views and walks along cliffs. 15 min walk to beach. Visit beautiful villages of Brook, Brighstone. Freshwater 10 min drive for water sports, Totland Bay for good seafront restaurant.

We had a grand time. All bedrooms face south though so in summer it would be great if blackout blinds or curtains could be added to make waking at 5 am an option (the neighbours' cockerel willing). The garden (+furniture) and excess quantity of cutlery and crockery made it easy for us to have folk back after our wedding including those friends who were able to stay on. Whilst the cottage is set up for extended families or a couple of families with children to stay together, it would also be great for 10+ friends who want to enjoy the wildlife of the South Wight.

We had a wonderful time and would go there again
