The house could have been cleaner. The house is old and you do get spiders but to have signs out saying it has had a deep clean due to COVID-19 I don’t believe this has been done to a high standard. We cleaned the windows on the inside and hoovered the carpets as these didn’t look as if they had been done. We also cleaned all the touch points. The fire hadn’t been cleaned just fresh wood put on! It’s now clean! The garden was a joke!! After three days a gardener turned up and told us the owner / caretaker had thought it was getting kept tidy but it hadn’t been done for a few months, in a panic they strimmed it and left the grasss everywhere. Not good when you have two kids and young dogs. This sounds like we have been picky which this cottage, when I book these cottages I want rural and old properties so yes I know what you get BUT when you spend close on £1000 for week I would expect a few things to be better! The cottage is in a beautiful location and has all the charm. Don’t let this put you off as it is only a few minor points that I am sure the owners / caretaker can put right going forward.

Great traditional little cottage, set in an enchanting glen. Had a really great holiday. Cottage is really cosy, ideal for a couple. I'm not sure it would be great for five people though.

Spent a week here and loved the cottage, the weather wasn’t great due to storm Brendan but that didn’t matter. The cottage is nestled in a beautiful Glen just over 3 miles up from Dornie 1 way and 8 miles from Kyle the other way. The cottage itself is lovely and cosy with the open fire and has everything you need really for a comfortable stay . There is no mobile coverage in the Glen but that can be a good thing to get a beak away from it . It’s a great base to go out exploring the surrounding areas . We went to Skye for the day to Glen Brittle and visited the fairy pools which are stunningly beautiful. We also took the drive up the Wester Ross coastal trail to Applecross and totally recommend that as it is a great drive with some amazing views. We had our 2 beagles Charlie and Bruno with us and the secure garden was great for them. Will definitely be looking to come to stay in the cottage again in the future.

We had a wonderful week at Ach Na Ben. The cottage is cosy and well equipped. The hosts have left maps and plenty of information for exploring the area. The house is well set up for dogs with an enclosed garden. It is a peaceful location with just a 2 minute walk to the Loch. Supplies can be found in the village shop which is a 10 minute drive. Eileen Donan Castle is also just 10 minutes away and the Skye Road Bridge only 15 minutes. A great base for exploring the highlands and Skye.

Wonderful location, house was very comfortable with everything you would need. Even the WiFi was good despite the distance from the nearest village, very useful as the cottage is approx. 3 miles to the nearest mobile phone signal (perfect).
