A remote location which is good for some and not for others. A stream running through the garden which meant in summer there are lots of midges. Well equipped cottage except no dishwasher and the fridge was small (difficult for a family of 4 that cook most meals). Nice to have a well equipped kitchen to cook in, logs for a fire, a dryer (no space inside for hanging clothes to dry). Beautiful scenery from all the windows and great walks from the front door. 30mins ish to Isle of Skye and Dorie was 10min away but the shop at Dornie was not well stocked.
Great location for walking and scenery.

A very cosy warm and comfortable cottage in an amazingly beautiful and quiet location. There is a lack of cooking saucepans at the property but that apart it is very well equipped. We hope to return very soon.
Ach na Ben is sited on a loop road off of a single track road that runs down the valley. As such it overlooks the mountains and Loch and was extremely quite and peaceful.
Inside there was everything required, TV, WiFi, log burner, economy 7 radiators, so whatever the weather and it’s Scotland so it Was variable ,the house was comfortable.
The nearest shop was about 5 miles away in Dornie.
All in all everything you could want in an excellent tranquil location.

ACH na Ben cottage a delight. The scenery amazing. Everything you need for a get away from it all break. Although in a village , very few cars and not many people. The Loch is right on the doorstep. Great places to visit...the woodland walk is worth a visit as is Applecross beach..the drive there is unbelievable. The dogs enjoyed the secure garden and the stream in the garden as the weather was so hot all week. Will definitely be booking this amazing cottage again.

Great location lovely garden and views.
Clachan pub closed in Dornie so only Hotel open.
The house is tired and in need of a re fit no dishwasher or tumble dryer
Bathroom was very dated and shower lacked power.
No upstairs bathroom
Very nice room space in the lounge and kitchen, great parking.
A multi fuel stove would be ideal.
A lovely place to stay but in need of a refurb to bring it up to date.
Great place to stay; I definitely would like to return sometime as it was faultless and fantastic. Thank you Iain & Sharon for making your lovely property available to rent.
The cottage is located in a very peaceful scenic location. But within a very short drive you are at Eilean Donan Castle, Kyle of Lochalsh, Isle of Skye what's not to like. The cottage is very comfortable with a log burning fire we are definitely thinking of going again. The Dornie Hotel is approx three miles away for great food.
This cottage on arrival was cosy and clean. It's set in a small lane in its own grounds with views to die for including looking straight onto loch long.. You can walk for miles in each direction... kitchen well equipped and games etc in living room . Close to dornie and isle of Skye.... Nice location for going out and about. A lot of signal lane roads and cottage no mobile reception (shame???)but wifi... Owners leave you in peace?A very good find
Lovely cottage, very homely, double bed was really comfy …. previous reviews mentioned poor wifi and no tv signal but we didn't have any problems with that at all so perhaps it has been upgraded - we didn't have very good weather (Storm Ali blew through the week we were there) but did not stop us appreciating the sheer beauty of the location - its dog friendly but very clean, you would not know dogs had been in the cottage, the big porch on the front is ideal for their basket etc and saves trekking them into the cottage itself and the garden is well enclosed as well
Lovely one of the best we have been to in the 27years we have stayed at in Scotland ,frendly locals,We had some TV problems which was due to batterys in the handset, thehelpline at the cottage didn't connect to the number when TV played up.Luckely my gambull paid off and all was ok.We saw some deer on three occasins just from the cottage. So sorry to say after two weeks we had to leave, maybe we will return.OK?
