Very pleasant. Modern kitchen and bathrooms. Very nice to find a bottle of prosecco on arrival along with other essentials like bread, milk, butter etc. Would most definitely recommend to family and friends.

Achieved the objective of a family get together over Xmas. Very quiet location ideal for long walks. We had 2 dogs and they enjoyed it too.

Cottage is finished to a very high standard - very well presented - perfect base for exploring this lovely part of the country

What a great time we had staying in Boxwood. Stunningly presented, spacious and modern. Lots of attention to detail, like lovely pictures in the walls, plenty of crockery, nicely presented bedrooms, liquid soap on the basins etc. The beds were very comfortable, as were the sofas and armchairs, with more seats than the number who can stay, meaning it felt so spacious. We had a problem with the hot tub so rang the owner, who had it resolved by the time we got home from our day out. Nothing was too much trouble, including a spot of WD40 to silence a squeaky bedroom door! I can't recommend Boxwood enough. Next time I need a larger property for a family get together, I'd definitely book again.

Boxwood is a nice property, well located for Marwell Zoo and Winchester. Portsmouth Historic Dockyards are well worth a trip too. The property is well equipped and had most things we needed. Lots of crockery/cutlery which is always appreciated in a holiday cottage. The coffee machine was a bonus and the Sky TV package was a treat. We were a little disappointed with the hot tub as it was a bit temperamental. The owner was very good at getting an engineer to come and look at it, but it seemed to be an intermittent problem with not heating properly; no-one’s fault, but annoying as we were unable to use on a few occasions. The upstairs shower leaked into the downstairs bedroom whilst we were there, again the owner got a builder out quickly to sort it. It clearly hadn’t been the first time though as there were previous water stains on the ceiling. I would think this needs addressing further and I was surprised the owner never checked again with us to see if it had stopped leaking. We were helped out by the owner’s manager on a few occasions who was extremely kind and friendly. I wonder if it would be better to have him as the property contact as we never once saw the owner. The ‘summer house’ referred to on the website is more of a shed and there was not a ‘games compendium’. It needed a lot of TLC and in fact the other property ‘raided’ what was available in there and took it into their property on day two and never returned it until the Friday morning! Unbelievable! Really not on when they had their own games summer house. Perhaps they need to be lockable? The garden referred to is separate from the house itself and you have to cross a driveway to get to it, so not suitable for people with children as you couldn’t let them go across by themselves. It also had no path up to it, you had to climb a steep bank so my elderly mother couldn’t go up onto it. This was also where the summer house/shed was located, so not ideal. The property is also described as having views over the countryside. It does not, it has big wooden gates so you cannot see views from the living area or the hot tub as the description suggests. This is why I have given a low rating as the property is not offering what it promises in the description. There was no visitor book or local attraction leaflets at all in the property, quite unusual for a holiday cottage. We went to the tourist board in Winchester instead.

7 of us had a fabulous weekend celebrating a 60th birthday. The only thing we couldn’t find in the cottage was a potato masher? Everything you need is there for an excellent stay. 5 star accommodation.

There are some minor repairs to the property that need addressing but overall the cottage is good value.
