Stayed for 4 nights as a family of 4 adults, baby and dog. Comfortable cottage, brilliant garden which the dog loved. Would certainly return for another stay.

nice cottage. bit dated but good condition.no local shops but that's why we went . to get away from it all. seems to be a problem with people next door with a camper van in front garden. After being out for the day, my partner and I sat out with a coffee at bottom of garden, she let her dogs out and they were barking and trying to get through the fence. then she banged every door in the house front and back. to top it off, she came out with a metal dish with stones in and rattled them for ages. we are elderly and don't make a noise so don't know if she has a problem with a holiday home next door, but it put me off going again.

Lovely cottage. Nicely laid out and spacious. A small down side- it wasn’t ideal for those who feel the cold like we do. The owner was attentive and helpful. The village is delightful and the cottage provides a great place to escape and relax. Local pub served superb food and had very friendly staff. Great base for walking either from the cottage or just a short drive away the fells and Haweswater. We would recommend Addison cottage.

Had a lovely relaxing 4 night break with a family....parents with 2 teenage sons. Cottage had everything we needed and was spotless. Wi-fi was excellent which kept everyone happy. Having a DVD player was great for at night as we brought some films with us. Best to stock up on goodies before you come as nearest supermarket a distance away and lighter for fire if going in autumn/winter. Enjoyed a lovely meal in the local pub though could be expensive if eating there every night. Will definitely return.
