    > Over 200 years old and once the home of a Welsh landowner, Aelybryn is a beautiful, detached holiday home that has been sympathetically restored by the current owner who lives nearby. Retaining many original features, this double-fronted house offers a choice of attractive living spaces, including sitting rooms, a cellar games room and a cosy reading room. Outside, children will love the galleon decking, complete with canons and a ship’s wheel, as well as a pirates’ chest with dressing up clothes. There is a separate play area with climbing frame, swings and a slide. For the adults, there is a private hot tub and a choice of seating areas around the purpose-built barbecue and a beautiful Mediterranean garden area. Ideally located on the edge of the small village of Mydroilyn, the house is just a few miles from Ceredigion’s Heritage Coast; 22 miles of rich coastline including dunes at Ynyslas, storm beaches, sheltered sandy bays, high cliffs and coastal paths. The nearby Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is a must to visit; once being a major trading port in west Wales and where many of the colourful painted houses were once owned by sea captains. Today, the town prides itself on lively festivals, exhibitions, events and sporting tournaments, as well as providing chic shops and an array of cafés and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. The National Trust property of Llanerchaeron House can also be visited from here via a traffic-free cycleway and riverside walk. The sandy beaches at the quaint town of New Quay are under a 15-minute drive away, and from the harbour, visitors can take a dolphin watching trip or a fishing boat expedition. At the coast or inland, there is a wealth of attractions and activities available, from forest walks, cycle trails, pony trekking and golf, to historical sites such as Strata Florida, Devil’s Bridge or Dolaucothi Goldmine. There are also many appealing towns and villages, including the university towns of Aberystwyth and Lampeter. Guests will never be short of things to see and do in Ceredigion, and after a busy day exploring, return to the splendid comfort of Aelybryn. Beach 5 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub 50 yards, restaurant ½ mile.

A wonderful holiday in a wonderful house! Everything you can think of had been supplied - from kitchen equipment to a changing room for the hot tub. Aelybryn has been furnished to a very high standard and with its numerous rooms and outside spaces, lends itself to a luxury family holiday - whatever the weather. Our week was a scorcher by the way. Thanks to Steve and family for a lovely stay. xxx

Loved everything about this cottage. Welcome was warm and friendly, Steve and his family are lovely. Outside area is wonderful, we had some lovely meals out there. The cottage amenities are really good, kitchen well equipped, rooms comfortable, the dining room well kitted, 3 living rooms meant we had some space to spread out. Everything was as described. So many spots out doors to just relax. The hot tub was clean and worked very well. Loved it all!

Exceptional property! Would definitely return. Lovely cottage perfect for two families. About 10 min drive from local town and shops. But there is a pub across the road and lots of walking opportunities. The owner lives nearby and is really hospitable. Some lovely little touches we travelled with four teenagers especially loved the pool table, hot tub and large well equipped kitchen to bake in. Fresh eggs from the owners chickens and a visit to their small holding all made for a relaxing week!

Absolutely stunning cottage with beautiful furnishings and everything you could possibly require. Every surface, cupboard, worktop, bathroom was immaculately clean; the cutlery was super shiny! Met by Louise who showed us around. The welcome pack was nice surprise and our dog loved his welcome pack too! (Cute touch)

We had a fantastic time - the house was extremely spacious, had everything we were seeking for a very enjoyable relaxing holiday. It took a couple of weeks trawling the Internet to find exactly what we were looking for, and it was well worth it! The location was good - very peaceful, with excellent views of the surrounding countryside. Sitting in the hot tub daily watching the Red Kites flying above us was a real treat. The house is very well equipped, there is so much space, and everything has been well thought through. We had a lovely welcome upon arriving, and the little extras were very thoughtful. The garden is very well designed and with so much seating available. The outdoor changing area for using the hot tub was a real bonus - something we've never had at other holiday properties. Aelybryn is a holiday property we all agreed we'd come back to - couldn't fault anything - a great house, in a great location!

A beautiful house in a location close to the beaches and places of interest. Steven made us feel so welcome and nothing would be too much trouble. A relaxing house with time to unwind and the pool table a real hit with the kids and the hot tub a hit with everyone!

We had an absolutely amazing time at Aelybryn from start to finish. The cottage has everything you need and is all at the highest of standards. The children and adults in our party enjoyed all of the facilities from the hot tub, games room, park and pirate ship- there was hardly any need to go out! Thank you to Steve for his hospitality - especially the loan of gravy for our dinner. We would love to return ?
