Afton is ideally located just a short walk from the centre of the highland conservation town of Aberfeldy, in the heart of Highland Perthshire. This cosy holiday bungalow is perfect for families wanting to explore this scenic area, small groups of friends who like to holiday and spend time together, or couples wishing to enjoy a relaxing break. Afton is a detached bungalow, all on one level, and offers top class accommodation throughout. With quality fixtures and fittings, guests will find the property welcoming all year round. The spacious living room is well presented with patio doors leading to the front garden. The kitchen/dining room boasts quality appliances and a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. There are three bedrooms - one twin room that looks on to the front garden, one double bedroom and a kingsize four poster bedroom with super views of the countryside, a family bathroom and a shower room. There is a lawned garden at the back, and a chipped area with garden furniture, perfect for al fresco dining whilst admiring the lovely views over the countryside and mountains beyond.
If you want to leave the car behind, there are many attractions within easy walking distance. Dewar’s Whisky Distillery can be reached from the footpath at the side of the house, so you can enjoy sampling ‘the water of life’ without having to drive. Aberfeldy offers fine independent shops, galleries, cafés, excellent places to eat, a deli providing fresh local produce, an award winning book shop and a community run cinema with a regular program. There is a vibrant live music scene with events such as the Highland Games, Aberfeldy Festival and Etape Caledonia Cycle Event. The River Tay runs through the town and guests can enjoy leisurely strolls along the riverside, white water rafting or fishing, with permits available locally. There are outdoor activities to suit all tastes in this area with a putting green and golf course, gentle walking and cycling, hill walking, mountain biking, water sports or boat trips on Loch Tay all available to try.
