Wonderful accommodation, clean, warm and welcoming. Great base for exploring the coast and surrounding area. We didn’t mind the location as we enjoy the quiet but others might find it too quite. No shops etc to speak of in Spittal but only a short walk to Berwick-upon-Tweed for lots of shops, bars and things to do.

The apartment is well equipped and clean and comfortable. The location is ideal for exploring the Northumberland coastline and for trips into Scotland. Edinburgh is only 40 minutes away by train from Berwick-upon-Tweed. The only disappointing thing is that, because of the nature of the building- possibly a former chapel?- the widows in all the rooms are small and high so there are no views to enjoy from the apartment. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

Location wonderful, literally 2 minutes to Spittal beach & promenade. Ground floor apartment, in a newly renovated Templar. Tastefully decorates, neutral, everything needed. Compact yet very comfortable. We certainly had a wonderful break.

A very clean apartment. Only slight issues were, a lack of a few things in the kitchen area, dinner sized plates, can opener that works, cheese grater. The shower is very small and cannot be adjusted in height. We did accidentally leave a dog bowl at the apartment but that was our oversight.

Could not fault anything. Only thing I felt it lacked was cupboard space in the kitchen for groceries. I would definitely stay again though.

Booked the cottage as took dogs but unlike all the other areas of Northumberland we have stayed we found it almost impossible to find places to eat which allowed dogs. Believe Berwick council has a lot to do with this.

Lovely apartment. Clean, well equipped and with a welcome gift of milk, biscuits & jam. The location was perfect as the beach was just around the corner. The town was within walking distance as were M&S food hall & ASDA. I would recommend.

Very clean and comfortable apartment with a very well stocked kitchen. The furniture was comfy and well laid out and the kitchen had more crockery and utensils than larger places we've stayed at, including a full sized fridge freezer and easy to use oven. The location is perfect for dogs, a minute from the beautiful beach and promenade and the apartment has a lovely enclosed courtyard. There's not much in Spittal itself but there is a great little shop, a couple of pubs and cafe and amusements on the promenade. It's the perfect base for exploring the Northumberland coast and Scottish Borders. Berwick is about a 20/30 minute walk depending on speed. Jean is a fantastic host and left a lovely welcome basket of biscuits, honey, jam, wine and milk. We had an amazing 2 weeks and will definitely return. I would highly recommend Aidens and couldn't fault anything.

Having booked Aidens last year without reading the reviews we were apprehensive about the comfort of the cottage. We were so pleased to see the change of ownership. Our holiday was one of the best we have had the beach so close and Berwick had everything you need. The local pubs being dog friendly was a great bonus. We will hopefully be booking again for next year.
