If cottage had been maintained it could have been a fantastic property. No welcome pack on arrival. Advertised as having fulls sky package although digital tv through sky box. Towels were so old they didnt dry properly. Holes in walls winds blowing through. Blind in bedroom was down no privacy. Plugs overheating. No first aid provisions.

Great time...nothing was a bother to the owner. Was beautiful rural location however couldn’t use the hot tub as it smelt of stagnant water. Very dog friendly.

Heating broke down constantly and had to be reset about 3 times a day which during January wasn’t ideal.

Clean, comfy and warm once heating on. Would be cosier if had curtains as well as blinds on windows. Also would benefit from a towel rack in rooms to hang towels over. Nothing within walking distance e.g. pub/restaurant but suited us.

Overall a very nice place would benefit from a good clean & the jacuzzi could do with a roof. We would definitely stay again

We had a lovely relaxing week at Airyhemming Dairy. The weather wasn’t great but we still managed to enjoy days out around Dumfries and Galloway and evenings in the hot tub and in front of the fire. The cottage is in need of a little TLC, as other reviews have mentioned, but this didn’t stop us enjoying the relaxing holiday we were hoping for

Lovely big house. Nice taste in furniture. Friendly hosts. Kitchen well stocked. Some DIY outstanding just holding it back. Some better lighting at Hot Tub would be good. Great night skies. Cows see hello on way past for milking every night. Some great places to go and visit nearby. Highly recommend.

So there are a few negatives to start with, the property will not to be to everyone’s taste with some derelict farm buildings on its boundaries. The owner really could pay a little more attention to detail as some cosmetic issues need addressing. The sky tv was switched off but the owner neglected to provide a tv aerial connection so if you want to watch tv, you are out of luck. However the accommodation is comfortable and has a lovely enclosed garden with a hot tub that is lovely on a warm sunny evening ( minus the infamous Scottish midges if possible). Spacious accommodation with a choice of bedrooms, lovely living and dining space, kitchen is spacious and a good standard oven, hob and huge fridge freezer if you want to cook yourself. Loved the log burner Lovely riverside walk a couple of miles from the property down towards a secluded bay, a local abbey ruins @2 miles away, again a lovely walk. So peaceful, easy access to many local attractions, quaint villages and bays. Recommend the steam packet pub at isle of Whithorn, dog friendly, amazing food and friendly service all overlooking a beautiful harbour and bay

Aesthetically, property looks good in pictures but there are a lot of things that require attention.
