Lovely cottage with stunning view of Loch Long right in the middle of nature. Walking paths start right behind the farm, leading to even more spectacular views. Cosy cottage, we enjoyed the log-fire very much in the evening. Plenty to see and do on Argyll's Secret Coast, don't miss Benmore Botanic Garden nearby! Experiencing the shearing of sheep live was an experience and then there are also quads, clay shooting and archery. We tried out the latter and found unexpected new talents! Andrew and Fiona are incredibly welcoming hosts, we found a hamper with eggs, croissants, biscuits and many other things on arrival. When we got stuck about an hours drive from the farm with a near empty patrol tank (always start with a petrol tank at least half full, especially on Sundays!) Andrew and Fiona came to our rescue with a 20l jerrycan. We will definetely come back here!

Lovely cottage in a great location. Not many local amenities, but we knew that when we booked and we wanted somewhere quite. There were 3 adults on our holiday and Alder Cottage is ideal for that many, with a bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a bedroom and shower room downstairs. The decked terrace is lovely, with great views of the Loch and sheep, plus it has the sun all day! The cottage is well kitted out, and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. Thanks to Granny Marshall for the shortbread! The local area is packed with place to visit, with stunning views a plenty!

A little bit dirty cottage, poorly maintenanced sanitary ware. Without usage of the wood stove the cottage could not be warmed enough. On the premises lots of (expensive) things to do, quad adventure, archery and clay shooting.

Lovely place for a relaxing break. Visitors are made very welcome, with a welcome hamper & milk in the fridge. Great views from the cottage, lots of wildlife around. Red squirrels in the garden. The cottage has a renovated bedroom & en suite upstairs - luxury - and another nice double downstairs. Loved the log burning stove. The shower room on ground floor needs upgrade, the kitchen could do with new cutlery/crockery/utensils and the hoover, bucket, mop & brush need stored out of sight. The cottage was generally very clean, bedding fresh etc. Some glasses/dishes/cutlery in kitchen had to be washed before using as previous guests had left grease/ lipstick on them. Just needs checked between visitors. So it's an 8 out of 10. If all was the standard of the upstairs bedroom it'd be a 10+. Lovely place to stay.
