Host could have been a little more friendly with messages exchanged prior to arrival to arrange arrival time etc but cottage well kitted out and comfortable.

We have been holidaying in cottages as a family for the past 8 years and although this cottage was clean and tidy with a modern kitchen and two nice bathrooms and the enclosed garden was good for our daughter it didn’t give us the wow factor. That being said we had a lovely holiday and thought Somerset was great. The location of the cottage was quiet. Our disappointment came from the lack of any character, size and impractical furniture. The use of black glass furniture in the living area ( tv unit glass design) and kitchen felt cold and certainly did not offer a homely feel. We also felt as this cottage was aimed at families ( sleeps 5 including single room) it was a particularly strange choice. The open plan design of the cottage is nice in terms of family time but as a whole the cottage is not that big and the bedrooms were not large double bed sized, outside garden chair cushions were stored on the top of wardrobes and in the single room the high chair and travel cot were stored in the wardrobe. The owner sent a text prior to arrival with essential details and as part of this asked us to move the lamps if we had small children as again they were glass! Again the lack of homely touches such as books, toys, pictures of the local area etc which we have always found nice was disappointing, the lack of toys/ board games for children for a family cottage in particular seems strange. We visited in half term and paid over £750 for the cottage and we do not feel this was good value for money as the cottage did not offer you the comfort, space and homely feel that makes the difference. The use of glass everywhere including the lamps makes me feel it is not suitable for families especially those with young children.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful rural setting. It had everything we required and really enjoyed our stay. Would certainly stay again if we were ever down that way. Gloria is a lovely host.

The cottage far exceeded our expectations. Being modern and bright with almost everything that we needed. There are many places to visit locally which kept us busy for the week. Unfortunately we were unable to try any of the pubs in Nether Stowey as the parking in the town was awful, day and night. The only thing that could be improved in the cottage is mirrors in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms, also a note needs to be added to the website that if you intend to do any cooking in the oven take your own oven gloves as none are provided.

We were very impressed with the cottage, the standard of fixtures, fittings and equipment was excellent. The little hotel like touches (toiletries etc) unexpected but welcome. We initially booked the cottage for it’s close proximity to Quantock Lakes where we were attending a wedding, but we also enjoyed exploring this part of Somerset and the wonderful scenery.
