Excellent base for a couple to explore coastal & inland venues in N.Yorkshire. Picturesque and calm location with good local walks & excellent butcher's shop in the village. Try the pork pies while warm. Loved the 4 day break

The old station is beautiful and the village is superb with excellent walks around it. Owners very friendly. A small point, and not a complaint, but we found Allerston cottage itself to be a bit on the small side although all the basic amenities you need were there. (It is apparently the smallest of the four cottages). We would certainly go back to the station but would probably choose one of the bigger units next time. No pub in the village but there is an excellent tea shop (The Forge) in the village serving meals. Some excellent pubs not too far away. Altogether an ideal site for touring the moors, forests and getting to the coast. Recommended.

Great place well equipped, lovely big shower. Beautiful garden and views. Shame our weather wasn't better to enjoy using it more. Helpful host's, we were made very welcome. Handy for touring the area of North East Yorkshire. Lots of places to visit.
