Set in an historic Breton hamlet boasting its own listed chapel and village bread oven, this pair of lovingly restored stone fishermen’s cottages nestle in a sheltered setting. The two cottages are offered as a single property, providing adjacent yet separate holiday accommodation for two families. Looking out onto a pretty courtyard to the rear of the owner’s house, the interior features a fresh nautical theme with beamed ceilings throughout. An 800 metre stroll along a country path takes you to La Greve Blanche beach, one of many in the area with pale sands and clear waters providing an ideal opportunity for water sports. The beach at La Torche, with its dune-backed expanse of sand is excellent for surf-lovers. For a quieter day out, explore the coastal path which takes you past striking lighthouses and superb views at every turn. The famous fishing port of Le Guilvinec is close by; visit towards late afternoon to see the trawlers returning with their catch and buy local langoustines for supper.

Lovely authentic cottages. Had everything we needed for family holiday. Beds good. Very narrow spiral stairs, and sloping ceilings upstairs so can’t always stand up. Lots of hot water. Washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. Owners very helpful and live next door. Swimming pool with retractable roof brilliant - clean, well maintained, lovely and warm inside roof when it rains, pool heated. The best pool we have ever had with a French villa.

The cottage was ideal for six adults and a baby. The covered pool was brilliant as we could use it comfortably in October! We also loved the covered seating area just outside the house - very convenient. All the equipment we needed was available and of a good standard, and the house was very tastefully furnished - obviously a lot of thought had gone into it. We enjoyed being able to walk to the town and the beach, and shopping was easy too, yet the location was very peaceful and the environment relaxing. The helpful owners made us very welcome without being intrusive. We would certainly hope to return!

lovely cottage and very nice helpful owners. Pool was fabulous, nice and warm and could have open or covered. Pretty garden and good outside eating area. Only down side for us was the narrow spiral staircase . Quite tricky to manoeuvre.

We enjoyed our stay at An Ilis very much. We had a very warm welcome from the owners and they were very helpful particularly with our ineptitude with the washing machine. The swimming pool was used every day and it was pleasant to sit in the arm chairs after a swim in the enclosure or to sit in the garden. The cottage is delightful with its nautical theme and ideally situated in a very quiet cul de sac near a historic bread oven and chapel within a short walk of the beach. Le Guilvinic is a bustling busy fishing port with good shops and restaurants just a short distance away. There is a really good shop for bread and patisseries and a small but very adequate supermarket opposite. Pont l’Abbe is within a few miles with super restaurants and shops. All in all we took full advantage of all the varied amenities within a short distance and our first experience of a holiday in Finistere was a good one with a lovely cottage covered pool and kind and delightful owners.

Lovely cottage in lovely location. Owners helpful but unobtrusive. Children loved the pool and used daily. When fully occupied slightly cramped and lacking in comfortable seating but didn’t spoil our stay.
