We had a wonderful week at The Farmhouse. Ages ranged from 10 months to 65 years! The house is beautiful, log burners were a bonus for cosy nights. Took a while to figure out the heating system. Cleaning wasn't quite up to scratch. In our bathroom we had an old toothbrush in the cabinet and a big splat of toothpaste. Everything on the surface was clean enough, however - toilets, sinks etc. Dishwasher hadn't been unloaded on our arrival and we weren't able to use the hot tub on the first day as it was still cold. Not much around, which was perfect for some R&R time! We walked to the local Red Lion pub but it was quite a way with kids, and didn't open until 6pm. The menu was limited, some not available but food was good and worth the wait. The beds were the comfiest ever, we all slept really well. Not the most private house - main bathroom didn't have a blind nor curtain. Bedroom overlooked next door's hot tub and bedroom windows. Owner lives in part of the house so conservatory/garden/hot tub area directly in front of their windows. But the upside to this was when we had an issue with a loose toilet seat, it was fixed immediately as soon as we contacted the caretaker (at 9pm!). Can't fault that! The kitchen was well-equipped, however the main oven (not aga) did not work very well, some utensils broken (tin opener) and chopping knives were quite blunt. Still, there was a lot of equipment in there and it had everything you could need to cook a good meal! We would love to return in the summer, would definitely be a 10/10 if the cleaning was a bit more thorough. Thank you!

Was a lovely cottage but the kitchen was not well equipped there was no welcome pack as suggested. The hot tub was also in view of the next door cottage and not private.
