We had a wonderful family holiday at Arrow Cottage. The house provided everything that was need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and sitting outside in the garden on summer evenings was a real treat. The location was also really handy to explore the dales and the rest of county Durham. Thanks :)

Lovely cottage with lots of space, beautiful views with lots of equipment and kitchen utensils. You could easily cook for a large group. Beds and bedding very comfy. Amazing welcome pack. If I was to give any recommendation it would be to install an extra shower over the bath or at least shower holders in the baths to make this easier. Would highly recommend.

I take my family, three adult children with spouses and four grandchildren (occasionally six), away for a long weekend in the early spring every year and this year the accommodation was definitely equal top and will definitely return in the future. There were lots of little extras such as a bowl of fruit, a bottle of wine, enough bits and pieces in the fridge and food store cupboards to get you through if you'd arrived at night without any food. Nice easy walking from the door and a short drive to Hamsterley Forrest (great for young and old alike) We had a great time, the games room is a superb facility, there is a huge collection of DVD's, a nice variety of books and the kitchen is comprehensively equipped. The owner contacted me to inform me, the day after I got home, that a couple of items of clothing had been left in a drawer in a bedroom - she very kindly posted them back to my daughter in law. Yes we all loved it and very importantly the children aged from 7 - 10 did too. We will go back.

We stayed here as a family of 12 (8 adults, 4 kids +a dog). A huge, clean, cosy, beautiful cottage, with everything you could ever need! Stunning views, cosy sofas, garden, games room, toys and an amazing coal fire! Valerie was so lovely, friendly and accommodating and even left us a lovely welcome package. It was the most perfect weekend! We didn't want to leave. Hope to visit again soon!

Arrow Cottage was a wonderful base for our week away. We were three different families with eight children and the owners were so kind in rearranging beds and rooms so that we had a boy's room and a girl's room and the parents got their own space. They also provided bespoke information for us after a telephone call we had before arrival and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The house was beautiful and remarkably well equipped, the games room was wonderful and the selection of books and DVDs outstanding, something for everyone! The only thing I would change would be the performance of the showers but that is me just being picky. I would most definitely recommend staying at Arrow Cottage and would return if heading this way another time.

We stayed at arrow cottage 23rd to 30th November,a party of 12 from ages 1 to 64, plenty of room for everyone. Weather could have been better but there was everything we needed at the cottage. To greet us there was a welcome pack (best we have ever had) and a lovely roaring fire. The children's loved the games room and all the hiding places in the cottage. The owner has thought of everything, she was very helpful and even posted my granddaughters beloved bear that we mistakenly left behind. There's lovely walks from the door step and lots of places to visit nearby. We managed to go to Beamish, wolsingham, nature reserve, Stanhope, Middleton in Teasdale, high force and low force, hamsterley forest. Theres a pub opposite and another a few minutes walk away. There is a lovely garden outside, we only used it to light some fireworks but in the summer it would be ideal for outdoor eating/drinking/playing etc. There are nearby supermarkets and you can do online shopping so don't take too much food with you, there are 2 fridges. Arrow cottage is wonderful, you will not be dissapointed to stay here. I happily recomend this property.
