A lovely touch of having bread, eggs and milk on arrival for you. If you like watching the ocean this is a perfect retreat. We spent many hours watching the sea and on 4 of the evenings we had sightings of the otter (see pictures) plus on 2 occasions we had porpoise swimming by. The location is quiet despite the close proximity of the road. You could easily lock yourself away here. The canal is nearby and is lovely for walking. Crinan is well worth a visit and a sea voyage on the Jenny Wren is highly recommended. Captain Barry provides a personal, informative and entertaining experience.

This is the third year in a row we've chosen to come back to Artilligan Cottage and it never disappoints. The cottage is warm, comfortable, spacious and relaxing and the secure garden is perfect for our dog. Yes, the access and egress from the road can seem a bit daunting but we are yet to encounter any issues and you just have to be a bit careful. And if anything, this is only a minor flaw to what is truly a spectacular location, with the big living room window offering up some of the best lochside scenery one could ask for with seals, otters, harbour dolphins and seabirds gracing you with their presence. We are already planning on returning in 2020.

This cottage is feet away from the main A road . From early morning until evening there is a constant stream of huge timber lorries, tankers delivery trucks, cars, and vans that fly past the cottage . The noise inside is constant. There is small area to sit out at the rear of the building and whilst the view is outstanding it is spoilt by the noise and fumes of the traffic. On a warm day we opened a window and the sound of the road was louder than the TV I was looking forward to hearing the lapping of water whilst having a lie in in the morning . But I was woken up every day at 6.30 with the sound of traffic . We quickly realised that this was only road to the Islands of Islay and Jura and the Kintryre area. The view from the rear of the cottage is outstanding and it was spotlessly clean. But we left in the middle of the week unable to relax with the noise from the road. Also be aware that there is no where to walk from this cottage , the road is too dangerous to walk along with no grass verge .You can get on the shore of the Loch but this consists of large stones and is tricky to walk on . The area is beautiful, but if you are looking for peace and quiet I would suggest you explore of cottage on the canal which was tranquil.

This is our 7th or 8th visit. The cottage has a great setting on the shore of Loch Fyne with wonderful views. It is very spacious, comfortable and warm and reasonably well equipped. The owner has clearly stated that the internet access is intermittent, which it has been in the past. However, on our two weeks, it didn't work at all. It didn't really bother us, but some folk would find this to be inconvenient. Local amenities, mainly in Lochgilphead, are reasonably good and about 8 miles away. It is not really possible to walk along the beach at the rear for any distance, due to the terrain, but there is plenty of walking nearby, including an easy walk along the Crinan Canal tow path which is always worth a visit. The large garden is secure and dog friendly, although there is access to the beach, as advertised. Although we are well used to it, the access and egress from the property on to the main road, directly to the front of the property requires some care. The use of the large garage (unusual in holiday accommodation) is always useful to us for secure storage of fishing gear and a large canoe. In the event of issues/problems (of which there have been few), the owners have always been swift to respond and provide a resolution. We are already booked for Sept 2019 and April 2020.

Setting perfect. Views of Loch Fyne out picture windows were wonderful. Walks along the shoreline straight from the garden made us feel like we had a private beach'.Welcome grocery pack appreciated. Cottage was warm despite the cold weather. Very spacious rooms and porch at front door great for boots and coats. Watched sea Otter and seals fro living room window. Would have liked more dishes as we ate in a lot but a minor problem. Sofas in living room were comfortable but cushions in one were past their best but again very minor. Really enjoyed our stay in this cottage.

Owners response to a problem excellent, but problem shouldn’t have arisen. Wet fuel.Property bedding towels and crockery need upgrading. Realistic dinner plate sizes no cereal bowls. Not dog friendly all above easily achievable.

Artilligan Cottage exceeded expectations. Best feature by far is the spacious lounge with stunning views which was a cosy bolt hole when the weather outside was a bit grim (sadly the property doesn't come with guaranteed sunshine!). The bedrooms were equally spacious and again with loch side views. Overall the cottage was very well equipped. The local amenities don't amount to a lot (other than fabulous views naturally) but then you don't expect to find a lot in an area like this. The biggest supermarket nearby is the Co-op in Lochgilphead (about 9 miles) but even that is quite small and limited compared to what many people will be used to. There's another Co-op in Tarbert, slightly closer (just under 5 miles) but also slightly smaller still!

Superb getaway on the banks of loch fynne. Tranquil and peaceful. Saw otters. Dolphins seals and buzzards from our window. Only criticism is we had to come home.
