A great little cottage tucked away in a quiet corner but central for all that Whitby has to offer. The property is in a small row of terraced cottages and is set over three floors. There is a terraced courtyard area to the front and rear of the property and the bonus of two private parking spaces. Just a short stroll and you are right in the centre of the town, with its fishing harbour and long sandy beach which is ideal for children, with traditional donkey rides and shallow waters. The famous Whitby Abbey overlooks the town and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps to the top where you have breath taking views along the spectacular coastline towards Robin Hood’s Bay. This walk forms part of the Cleveland Way leading down towards Scarborough, a fantastic walk along the rugged coastline with stunning views, nature and fauna.
There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within a short walk, as well as lots of little independent shops that sell the famous Whitby jet jewellery. Whitby is popular all year round, even in the winter it can be buzzing with people wandering the cobbled streets, there are lots of festivals held in Whitby attracting visitors from all over the world. North of Whitby are the resorts of Sandsend and the quaint fishing village of Staithes: with its narrow streets and pantile cottages, it is often chosen by artists due to it’s quaint charm. The large seaside resort of Scarborough is south of Whitby and well worth a visit for family fun. The cottage is ideally placed to visit the coast, the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Wolds. Beach 400 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

A beautiful cottage. Very clean and well equipped. We had a lovely welcome present which meant we didn't have to shop as soon as we got there. Beautifully decorated and a really lovely, comfortable cottage to stay in. The kids loved the attic room! Highly recommended.

The location of Arundel cottage is great, it is not too near the busy town of Whitby but in a quieter location just a 10 minute walk away from the town centre with the added bonus of private parking, a bit of traffic noise from the main road first thing but otherwise ok. The cottage was comfortable, clean and well equipped, had an issue with the shower too hot in the bathroom but sorted by adjusting temperature when the shower was off and cooled down.

Nice, well equipped cottage a few minutes walking distance from the town with car parking spaces. Lovely coastal walks and the Whitby Museum and the Captain Cook museum both very good.

Ideal location. No shelves in fridge door. Single beds a bit rickety but still comfortable. No scissors.

The cottage is well equipped although parts needed some tlc. It is well situated with the added bonus of car parking. The front patio although not private was secure for our small dogs. We would certainly stay there again and Whitby is a lovely place to visit.

Great cottage, great location. Nice clean rooms for all the family. Parking was a bonus for Whitby. Not far from everything and the hills helped us work off the fish & chips. Nice touches of welcome biscuits and wine.

The house was lovely, it just needed a little TLC. The mattress’s in the twin room needed replacing. The toilet flush wasn’t working properly in the main bathroom and the hall needed a coat of paint. The house was very close to Whitby centre.

The cottage was like home from home, with all the comforts and additional personal touches. It was located in good spot for accessing Whitby and surrounds. Great for family or group of friends. Equipment/facilities were great, only problem was trying to open the back double bedroom window. Would definitely recommend to others.
