For our holiday, we found this cottage very, very disappointing. If it wasnt for the location, we would of found alternative accommodation. When we arrived, we had to hoover the rug due to it not being hovered before we arrived and it was covered in white dogs hair, the throws on the sofa had not been washed or changed, smelt of dog and was covered in hair, it looked disguisting. The room was also filled with cob webs, we understand this is an old cottage, but along with the thick dust on the mantle piece gave us the definite impression that this cottage is not being cleaned and dusted properly. On the upside, bedding and towls were clean, however the suprise was short lived. The bathroom is one of the worse we have ever seen. It was disgusting and if there was a photo on this site, we would of not booked. The bathroom was dated, but yet again had not been cleaned properly, The toilet role holder and the tooth brush holder were rusty and filthy, we did not use, no soap was provided and the toilet roll holder and the bin in the bathroom were rusty and dirty too. The shower curtain was mouldy and looked like it hadnt been changed from the 80's. The shower head was dirty and the holder too. There was not even a blind for the bathroom window, which to me is a basic necessity for privacy. There was mould on the walls, the shower mat and outside of the bath tub. In the secound bedroom only one plug was provided despite two beds, and also no wifi, a bit of a disappointment as no rooms in the house have any mobile signal Everthing felt past its best, sofa and beds uncomfortable and need changing. The decor on the wall was dull and did not feel welcoming. When we looked in the guest book as well, several pages had been cut out, so obviously others are feeling the same, especially after reading the welcome book. Not impressed at all.

The cottage itself was a little tired and in need of some TLC. Having said that, it's an Old cottage with a relaxed feel and we enjoyed our stay. It was fully equipped with everything we needed, it was clean and warm. The enclosed gardens were great for the dogs. The location was excellent with 3 welcoming pubs, the Meadery, it was a short journey from surrounding towns, villages, coves, beaches and the coastal paths.

Disappointing. Pendeen is lovely, cottage in a quiet setting off the main road, local people very friendly. What spoilt it was the condition of the cottage. It was grubby, very grubby. Given that our stay was at the very beginning of the new season, (week before Easter hols) it was a big surprise to find the cottage hadn't benefitted from a winter spruce up. Clearly hasn't been decorated for some time, I don't mind shabby chic, generally my preferred décor choice, but other people's dirt - an absolute no no. The kitchen cupboards were filthy, walls and cupboards alike covered in grease. No idea when the sitting room floor was last cleaned, judging by the black, dirty tide mark around the rug, quite some time ago. REALLY needs a bloody good clean. It has the potential to be lovely but desperately needs time and money spent on it.
