Situated only a short walk away from all kinds of local amenities as well as the beach Avalon makes for the perfect seaside holiday base. Sandown Pier is also close by providing entertainment for all the family For adventure seekers the train station at Sandown offers links to other seaside resort all over the island. Full of character the property has a ground floor bedroom with a pull-out bed should that be require. There is also a conservatory which opens onto the enclosed courtyard garden to the back of the property. The property also benefits from a well-equipped kitchen and a dining room where you can enjoy a meal with the whole family. Sandown offers many beach front attractions to keep all of the family entertained. The golden sandy beach is also great for relaxing on those lovely summer days. Walk over to Shanklin along the 2-mile coastal path and enjoy the stunning views that the coastline offers. Why not take a day trip to the village of Godshill with its tea gardens pubs Chocolate Island Cider Barn and model village. The local area also includes an abundance of activities for the sports enthusiasts with sailing surfing and body boarding all available along the coast. Sandown also offers a scenic 18-hole golf course as well as a ‘Dinosaur Isle’ with scale models bones and fossils. Beach ½ mile.     The Avalon was in a great location between the train station and beach. Accessible to good bus routes to access other parts of the Island. We loved our stay at the Avalon, as it was fully equipped with everything we could want or need at a holiday. From beach chairs, to binocular, to a beach mat. The rooms were good size with extra mattresses to sleep upto 8 people. Loved having breakfast in the sunny conservatory drenching in the morning sun. The kitchen was a joy to use and cook in. Would highly recommend again, and definitely would return to Avalon again if we return to isle of Wight in the future.

    This is a lovely house in an ideal location but the house is very dirty and in dis repair.

    Although this cottage was clean and tidy there were many problems. The doors for the bedrooms did not close properly. It was advertised as having a king sized bed, it was a double. The light bulb on the landing did not work, could not find any spares and it was too late to buy some. Fortunately we were able to exchange the table lamp bulb in the-dining room for the non working one. Front door difficult to lock. Storage heater in the bathroom not working, so towels difficult to dry. Shower head needs attention. On the plus side was the cleanliness and it was a lovely touch leaving, butter, bread and milk.
