One of a pair the south-facing holiday home has beautiful views up and down the wide estuary and of the magnificent Norman castle. The village remains unspoilt tucked away in a very pretty corner of Wales with a tea roombeach shop almost next door and a shopcafé post office restaurant and two pubs within walking distance giving it a laid back attitude to life. Amenities include tennis courts beachriver fishing horse riding open farms and boat club with other pubs and hotels on this lovely peninsula between the Rivers Taf and Towy. A short drive leads to Laugharne final resting place of Dylan Thomas and Pembrey Country Park with dry ski slope and miles of bike riding and the Cefn Sidan Beach.     property was cold, floor boards in need of desperate repair and front room had a smell of damp.

    The cottage was lovely although there was a strong smell from the boiler which seemed quite old. The garden was not secure for toddlers, a highchair and stair gate are needed to make it more family friendly and a gate near the back door to keep children and dogs confined.

    We have been to Llansteffan many times and love the location of this cottage. It is spacious and great place for family holidays. However the cottage could do with some refurbishment to be value for money. We have stayed in far more comfortable cottages for less money. All the beds are very uncomfortable and the mattresses are very lumpy. Also it is the only cottage we have stayed in where you don't get a welcome pack.

    Fantastic, spacious cottage opposite the beach. Ideal for 3 generations for a family holiday. Great location for beach activities and village tennis courts. Super ice-cream and fish and chip kiosks. Friendly locals. Definitely recommend a visit!

    We have stayed at Avondale on s few occasions now and this year the place had been freshened up, new bedding and new outside table although only 4 chairs of a place that sleeps 8 ! The only comfortable bed is the one with the on suite, the twin room, the other double bed and bunks on the front all need desperately replacing ! The mattresses are terrible and we all had terrible backache and not good nights sleep. Avondale is in an excellent location and the layout of the place is perfect for us. It was nice to see they have improved the place slightly but new mattresses or beds is a must as these are not acceptable really.

    Out of season the position of the cottage is great in season I imagine it's hard to park and as you mustn't swim in the estuary hard to keep children out of the water, the house was cold and the heating needed bleeding, the oven had no shelves but the hassle over the wifi caused the most problems, I don't think you should say you have wifi if the router is in another house and you don't put the code in the information book or which router it is otherwise the cottage was big spacious and in a fab position .
