Bakewell is a well-known town, not only for its tasty Bakewell Puddings, but for its shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as the renowned local farmers market. Situated within the Peak District National Park, Bakewell has something for everyone, from stately homes, such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall and Lyme Park to the rugged, dark and limestone White Peak, which are all close by. Impressive caverns, such as the Blue John Cavern in Castleton and Little John’s Grave in Hathersage, are not to be missed, along with a trip to Buxton to visit the famous Buxton Opera House, designed by the same designer as the London Palladium, or the newly refurbished Crescent with its shop and spa. For the thrill seekers Alton Towers is also accessible. The Eaves really is the ideal place to stay and enjoy all that this wonderful area has to offer!
