Located in the heart of the Peak District National Park in the picturesque hamlet of Hulme End, this stylishly converted stone holiday cottage dates back to the 1880s and comes complete with the opportunity for free fishing onsite. Comfortably and tastefully furnished to a very good standard throughout, it is full of thoughtful personal touches. The cottage is ideally located just 250 yards from a 200-year-old coaching inn, simply making them a perfect base in which to relax and unwind or from which to explore the area. The busy market towns of Leek and Ashbourne are both easily reachable within half an hour, as is Buxton with its famous opera house and stunning Georgian architecture. The Heights of Abraham with its unrivalled views and cable car, the ever popular town of Bakewell, the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall, and even Alton Towers Theme Park for those thrill seekers, are all also just 30 minutes away. A mere further 10 minutes then brings the stunningly beautiful village of Castleton, The ‘Emma Bridgewater Factory’ full of her locally produced earthenware iconic pottery, and the remarkable plague village of Eyam. Shop, pub and restaurant 250 yards. Bridge View Cottage can be booked with River View Cottage (30173) to accommodate up to 8 guests.

Would benefit from a vacuum cleaner, a new indoor brush, some milk with the welcome package and advice on access to the tumble dryer. As the owners were away, we were at a loss for this, which the bumf says is a shared item. We could not find it; no more the barbaque! As it happened, the latter was not an issue, due to the weather!

For a couple we had plenty of room in a very well equipped property. Decor and furnishings were very good. Parking right outside front door and a helpful and friendly host. Lots of local information provided and outstanding walks in the vicinity. Pub just across the road. Outside space was disappointing with no view, positioned at the side of the property between cottage wall and tall vegetation next to the main road.

The cottage is very clean and very comfortable. It is an ideal cottage for relaxing and keeping warm in the winter. The living room was the best we have seen as cottage visitors for many years. The whole cottage is decorated and equipped to a high standard. The owners are very welcoming and it was a very pleasant holiday. The location is superb for visiting the Peak District. We love visiting Hartington and Ilam Park so it suited us down to the ground. It is located very near the Manifold trail and it is therefore ideal for walkers. We love the Tea Junction tea rooms which is very near by although it is not open over Xmas. Good for runners looking for somewhere to run. The cottage is situated in a courtyard next to the owner's home and another cottage but this did not bother us. The cottage was very quiet. It is a good location and cottage for a relaxing or active holiday.

We stayed in the cottage for a weekend over October half term (family with 14&11 year old boys). This is a great comfortable cottage with modern kitchen, TV etc. Everything works well including the heating which was tested over a very cold weekend. This is one of the best places we have stayed in and we hope to stay here again when back in the Peak District.
