We had a lovely time, the cottage was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Amazing views from each window, great walks from the doorstep, we managed to climb the hill a few times, the views from up there were even better. There is a secure small garden but you can use the owner's garden which is huge. We enjoyed racing our remote control cars there. The owner Hilary is very nice and friendly and helpful if you need anything. She lives in a house just behind the cottage but is not intrusive. Didn't have to go very far to the supermarket, there is one in Accrington just a few minutes away but you've got a big choice in Burnley just 4 miles away. There is a convenient store in the village and we noticed a Chinese takeaway next door to it but we didn't use it due to the pandemic. All in all a great place to recharge your batteries, away from everything and we probably come again.

Amazing little cottage that is away from all the hustle and bustle of the nearby towns. Fantastic views and walks as soon as you step out the door. It was perfect for our two dogs as it has an enclosed garden for them to play in. The owner of the cottage is so welcoming and helpful, she was very knowledgeable about the area and could give us ideas of what to do as well as inform us on some local history. The cottage itself was spotless and had everything we could have needed. Highly recommend a stay here If you want some piece and quiet or a dog walking holiday.

Had a four night stay at Barley Heights in November. The bungalow was warm and cosy and was fully equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The lovely touches of fresh fruit, biscuits, tea/coffee and milk were much appreciated! Hilary the Owner greeted us on arrival and was friendly and informative. My Daughter and I (plus our 2 terriers) would definitely return to Barley Heights preferably in the Summer.

great little home from home escape....

Got a very warm welcome from the owner and her 2 very friendly pooches. Absolutely beautiful little cottage within short driving distances of local amenities. Nice location, although our 14.5 year old Labrador did struggle on the hill and didn't get to make the most of the walks. He did, however, love the fenced grassy area out back and the company of the owners dogs (they like their treats, if you need to bribe them). The cottage was absolutely immaculate, really comfortable and well equipped. We even got a welcome package of dog biscuits and toy, biscuits for the humans, a bowl of fresh fruit and a bottle of milk. We would definitely recommend for a dog friendly break, but suggest taking some anti slip mats if you have a senior dog because the living room is laminate. We would, without doubt, stay there again.

Fabulous cottage close to loads of stunning scenery and country walks. Great location for exploring the area and lovely warm welcome from Hilary (and Bracken and Poppy).

We loved our last minute weekend stay at Barley Heights, which was perfect for the two of us plus our dog. Hilary and her family, plus two lovely labradors, were really welcoming. The view from the cottage is incredible, and facilities extremely comfortable. The garden immediately outside the cottage is completely secure and then there’s the wider garden which is huge, and our dog loved zooming around it. We hope to visit again! Thanks.
