Stayed many times at barmston cottage. The cottage is just a bit grubby it needs a deep clean. Moved the settee and it was grim. Having said that I’m going next Easter for two weeks! 🙂

The cottage is perfectly placed for access to the beach being opposite the road to it but it does sit on a busy noisy road during the week. The Ship Pub is excellent and only a few yards away but no shops in the village. The cottage itself is a bit tired, it was refurbished over 30 years ago and it looks it, more shabby than chic. The back garden gets a lot of sun but only has a table and 4 chairs, would have been nice to be able to relax in it with a couple of sun loungers. Little things like winter quilts in July, no Wi-Fi & really thin bedroom curtains so awake at the crack of dawn were a bit annoying. A good cottage if your priorities are just the beach and pub, personally I prefer a few more creature comforts.

Stayed here for the last 8 years. It needs a bit of an update and a good clean! The window surrounds are really grubby. The storage heaters are very hit and miss. Having had a moan I’m back again in August so it’s not putting me off! ?

We have stayed many times at Barmstone over many years. It is a delightful old cottage, very cosy. The only thing that lets it down is the bed that needs a new mattress. The springs can be felt. We end up with back ache at the end of the week. We come back to Barmstone because it works well for us to visit family and we do have a soft spot for the cottage as we have stayed over the last 20 years.

Excellent cosy cottage. Great location, walking distance to beach, dog friendly.

We were disappointed to walk in after after a day out to a very cold house. The storage heaters had not been turned up suitably and it wasn’t the warm cosy cottage we were expecting. The heating hadn’t even been turned on in the bathroom. I think the pictures were quite deceiving. The cottage was quite dated in comparison to the photos.

We have been staying at Barmstone Cottage for many years and it’s location is excellent, it is value for money, it is generally comfortable and cosy, the garden is great for our 4 legged companions. There are a few things that could make it a little more comfortable......the mattresses are not the most comfortable and the water pressure for the shower is poor. However, for an authentic cottage, with a warm friendly feel and excellent location, we will be returning.

Unfortunately two main reasons would preclude us from staying a gain - no WiFi and no O2 mobile reception. Additionally, no hot water pressure in upstairs wash basin or shower. Plug leaks in bathroom basin, so coupled with trickle of hot water, it's impossible to shave, especially as there is also there is no shaving light over the basin and the main ceiling light is behind you! Also heated towel rail in bathroom is ridiculously small for four people.

Very good stay. We love Barmstone Cottage.....all you need for a Norfolk break. The only reason that I gave a 7 for the comfort is that the mattresses seem a little old and after 4 or 5 days staying our backs really feel the discomfort. Otherwise Barmstone Cottage is an old favourite.

Didn’t enjoy the hob/oven at all. Took forever to heat up. Would be good to have a choice of feather or non feather pillows. The pillows were very uncomfortable. They need some proper wine glasses. Cheap tesco ones would do the trick. Love the cottage and location. This is my second visit to the cottage in the last couple of years. A few updates and tweaks and to HAVE WiFi would encourage more bookings as Norfolk has very poor reception anyway. Hope to see you again soon little cottage.
