We stayed Monday to Friday myself, husband, daughter and my mum and our dogs baloo (German shephard) bean ( chihuahua Cross Jack) The house was lovely would love to have had a nose around the whole house. We spent our whole time in the veranda just reading or watching the wild life. At first I was a bit sad there was no WiFi but you know what that was a blessing we actually engaged as a family. I would highly recommend this house. My only criticism would be that the dogs where not allowed upstairs and that the master bedroom didn't have a king or super king bed but they where comfortable. Ps if you ever want to sell please get in touch would love to live there forever

Great location. House and beds comfortable.

The location reflects the price of this cottage, and the interior is kept in appropriate style for the age of the house but there are a few tired shabby points that ought to improve, and which perhaps haven't been noticed lately. Please improve deeper cleanliness.. the layer of brown grease on the grout behind the hob is horrid.. and has been building up for a while..so thick that it can be easily scraped away in ribbons. Descale the kettle. A dining chair has a loose back that could collapse with a heavier person leaning on it. A broken top drawer in the kitchen hasn't been fixed, so the daily cutlery has just been moved to the next drawer down. The microwave has lost a front foot, so is wobbly. The lounge curtains hang quite scruffy.. more hooks on the pole needed. The Dyson hoover cylinder was FULL of muck .. it should be emptied every week when it is used.. and filters cleaned regularly. As a result, it smells dreadfully when switched on. And the bendy pipe on it is virtually severed, so how that does the job, I don't know. The en-suite shower is ok, but quite weak... and we found the water building up over our feet.. so clearly a blockage.. we took the trap out of the shower base and it was FULL of hair blockage.. it can't have been cleaned for weeks. A pink fluffy rug covers a large yellow carpet stain.. shampoo it, don't cover it. Take a closer look at the blue bedroom... the paintwork is rough, dark blue showing through the newer pale blue all over the wall.. especially bad above the basin.. a whole strip has been missed... sack the decorator! However the beds are superbly comfortable, and the garden truly divine. The problems above are simple and low cost to fix, but Barton House commands a good price, so I wouldn't expect such a tired feel to it. Can i suggest a decent outside light?.. there are several switches in the conservatory, but only some ineffectual round glow-lights came on. Taking a dog down those steps on a lead late at night in the pitch dark is a challenge. We loved Wroxham as always, we appreciate the use of your boat, and adored watching the world go by. We met some lovely people, and explored further every day. Good holiday base.

Beautiful house in a fantastic location. We loved our week there. Some small, steep stairs in the bathroom to watch out for but clean, well equipped and some great features. We loved sitting in the veranda in the mornings and evenings watching the wildlife or on one of the benches by the water watching boats sail past and herons fishing.

We had a lovely time in the garden and on the river but the cottage itself is a bit tired. The host was very helpful and fishing good
