The owners were at the property when we arrived and they immediately made us feel very welcome in their home. The welcome package which included cereal, fruit, crisps, biscuits and wine was not at all expected, but really appreciated. The house is nicely decorated with plenty of room. The kitchen has everything your own kitchen does at home and the dinning table sits 6 people. The sofas are comfortable, there is a large TV in the living area and a DVD player with a good selection of films to watch. There are also a number of books available if you fancy a read. The beds are really comfortable and there are TV’s in all three rooms, with plenty of storage for clothes. There are two bathrooms at the property, towels are provided and the showers are great (there is a bath available too). The views from the two larger bedrooms are breathtaking and the bedroom on the top floor has a balcony so you can sit outside and enjoy them. There is parking outside the property, which on a couple of occasions had been used by the neighbours, but you can park at the bottom of the road by the beach, so it isn’t a problem. There is a well stocked co op with a cash point just a couple of minutes drive away, or about 10 minutes on foot. Also nearby is a bakery (I can recommend the breakfast butties), a Chinese takeaway and a chip shop. There is also an Indian restaurant, where we had a lovely meal. These are all situated on the same road as the co op, so all within easy reach. There are lots of family things to do in the area (I would definitely recommend the Safari Zoo) We also enjoyed a number of coastal walks and Windermere is only a 40 minute drive away. We really enjoyed our stay, it is such a beautiful part of the country, which we feel blessed to have stumbled upon. We will definitely recommend the property to our family and friends 😀

Great location, lots of things to do all within a 30 minute drive, the house was very clean and homely, lovely owner left a nice gift for our boys and phoned during our stay to make sure everything was ok, lovely part of the country with lots to see and do. Would highly recommend this house if your thinking of staying in the area

We had a lovely stay at Bay View, it was very clean and well equipped .The view was amazing, and the location was ideal. Close to the lake's and ideal for exploring Cumbria. The village itself was nice and quiet, great to get away from it all. A lovely couple who owned the property , very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Bay View.

The owners are fantastic, communication excellent, deal with any issues immediately. Welcome pack was amazing and unexpected. My children wouldn't stop wowing about the place and the area. Spent glorious days exploring the beaches and picnics and a fab time at old hall farm. A lovely relaxing family break.

In a quiet location Bay View is next but last in a row of terraced houses where you can overlook the Duddon Estuary. Parking is available but is limited due to other residents also wanting to park outside. Askam itself is a small place offering limited amenities such as a co-op, 2 pubs, an Indian and Chinese takeaway and local fish and chip shop. We used the chippy and the Indian and both were very good. Bay View itself has been refurbished to an extremely high standard. Downstairs is roomy and bright. First floor offers a large double and a small single bedroom along with a family bathroom. Up another (quite steep) flight of stairs to the master bedroom which boasts a double bed and en suite facilities. The place is well furnished and decorated to a high standard. A TV in every bedroom and Wi-Fi is a definite plus. A great place to base yourself for your visits out and about the South Lakes area which is in itself beautiful. Only downside we could find was the location everything else is fine.

A fantastic location. Stunning views, walks from the back door, and plenty to explore by car. Lakes, boat and train trips, and a comfortable, cosy and well-organised house to come back to. Perfect!

Absolutely brilliant, Kindness of the owners was outstanding even though the lady was in hospital she was eager to hear that we had arrived safely and were settling in. The presents left for us were most welcome. The ambiance of the house was just so lovely, clean bright, interesting and seasidey. The views from the property are so uniquely beautiful. A very unspoiled section of the Cumbrian coast. We walked along the beach, we went on the Ravensglass "lil Ratty " steam train in the sunshine. We walked up to the faerie gyll at Eskdale. We visited Leigh ton Moss and saw hundreds of Godwits...and tried date slice. Everything about this holiday was so good. Id very happily stay here again and recommend it wholeheartedly to others. A very nice lovingly cared for property in an exquisite place away from crowds.

Much better than okay! One of the reasons we booked was for the views and we weren’t disappointed. Although the weather didn’t lend itself to any time out on the balcony, we still loved opening the blinds every morning and looking out. There are lots of lovely details in the house and a very generous welcome pack. It felt very homely and our children settled in well. Location is a good for day trips and nice not to meet the traffic we’re used to at home. There was a small problem with the listing of the property which was dealt with immediately with the best outcome possible. The only other thing is parking, we 1never struggled for a space but it is a narrow terraced street and the headland where you can turn around is very bumpy and rocky and we scraped the car underneath so be careful with lower cars.
