There are 12 external steps from the balcony to the ground floor.\nThis lovingly restored three-storey terraced holiday home situated on a quiet cul-de-sac in a central village location of Haverigg is furnished and decorated to a very good standard. The property overlooks the River Lazey and Haverigg’s harbour and has views across the 3 miles of sandy beach to the front of the property and Black Coombe and the range of Lakeland Hill to the rear. In Haverigg the village shop is open 7 days a week and caters for every need. The Harbour Hotel serves excellent bar meals whilst the fish and chip shop has an adjoining cafe. Not far away is the beach cafe which is also open all year. The nearby town of Millom is 1½ miles away with a good range of shops restaurants cafes and takeaways. Walk to the Hodbarrow Nature Reserve and the RSPB hide and watch the many species of migrating birds which use this area to rest during their long annual migratory flights. Search for rare orchids and Natterjack toads on the dunes which are a dedicated Site of Special Scientific Interest SSSI. The Cumbrian Coastal Way running through the village can lead you north or south alongside the peaceful estuaries and inlets with spectacular views all around. Water ski or wakeboard at Port Haverigg Ski Club or enjoy beach and fell horse riding which is also available nearby. The market town of Ulverston 20 miles is a pretty Georgian town with cobbled streets and a Thursday market. Climb to the top of Hoad Hill for some spectacular coastal views. Nearby Coniston Priory is a Buddhist retreat with a cafe gift shop and lovely grounds bordering the estuary. See the famous ghosts at Muncaster Castle 12 miles and also many rare trees and plants or visit the World Owl Centre. Climb aboard the steam train ‘La’al Ratty’ at nearby Ravenglass and explore the beautiful Lakeland fells. Alternatively travel to historic Lancaster or Carlisle. Both trips hug the beautiful coastline and provide a memorable day out. Georgian Whitehaven 27 miles has strong Caribbean connections and this historic link has brought Cumberland Rum Butter amongst many more tasty culinary delights. Haverigg is situated on the Cumbrian Coastal Way in an unspoilt seaside location close to all the attractions of the Lake District. It is only 33 miles from Windermere and 16 miles from Coniston and a world away from the crowds. An excellent touring base for the Lake District with quiet roads an added attraction lack of crowds and a peaceful setting. Beach 10 yards. Shop 1½ miles pub and restaurant 30 yards.\n" https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/832/840/832925.jpg 29901

Almost found the perfect holiday home. Until we had a problem with the security of the building forcing us all to sleep in one bedroom on the top floor. And the owner not really caring telling us theyd sorted someone to fix it then had a no show and didnt bother telling us why. Or apologizing. And also said if we wanted to go out just take our valuables as everyone leaves there doors unlocked around there anyway. So one week out of two we were unable to leave the cottage as we couldnt close or lock the downstairs bedroom patio door.

Amazing place, amazing views. We all loved it and the dog is exhausted after his week of beach walks.

Brilliant location with fantastic view. Shame the pub in the town centre doesn't allow dogs but the King Billy does and steaks were fabulous

Lovely cottage with great views over the estuary. Well equiped and good cleanliness with welcome pack a thoughtful touch.

Fantastic for dogs, but nothing else to do. Thank goodness for train station In Millom so we could get away from Haverigg.

Lovely clean cottage and great views over the bay

Fantastic location, unfortunately the cafe and local shop were not open when we were there even though the information said they were open all year round, this was not the owners fault though. The property was lovely and clean although the double bedroom downstairs was quite cold. The rest of the property was lovely and toasty warm and extremely comfortable. We went over the new year and the owners had left a bottle of Prosecco for us along with some lovely crackers. there was also bread, butter, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and eggs for our use. We were very impressed. Third bedroom would be more suitable for children but ok. We would recommend Bay View and was excellent value for money.

The building on the whole was very comfortable, but in the winter the down stair bedrooms where cold. The local beach cafe is closed in winter, the local shop has closed down and the chippy doesn't have tables to eat in.

Fabulous views and position of the cottage is second to none beautiful place

    out of 10

Cottage is a great size and very comfortable. Kitchen table very sticky regardless of how well it is cleaned..... probably needs replacing, it also only seats four. Great views over the bay and ideal dog walking territory. The two local pubs serve decent beers, however the local shop has closed down so there is a short drive to Millom for supplies. We enjoyed the quiteness and location of Bay View and the cottage was more than suitable for four adults, two kids and two dogs.

Been here few times now & love it. Haverigg is a little gem of a hidden place. Only niggle we have is the TV in the lounge could be bigger...hint hint...other than that top marks.
