Brolas is situated just 10 minutes’ walk from the shore of beautiful Airds Bay through the owner’s croft land. There’s some wonderful walking around the lochside and in the nearby forests. The local inn provides a friendly pub atmosphere with great food and is just 5 minutes’ walk away.
Taynuilt is a busy little village offering the convenience of shops, a hotel, a café and a golf course, all within a rural setting within a 15-minute walk from the cottage. It has great transport connections and a popular village pub serving food, as well as attractions very nearby.
Known as the Gateway to the Isles, Oban, 12 miles away, is a bustling fishing town with many shops, bars and restaurants. You can catch a short ferry trip to one of the Inner Hebrides, including Mull, Staffa and Iona. There are many opportunities to view wildlife with golden eagles, basking sharks, porpoises and otters often seen. There’s loads to explore nearby, including deserted lochs, ruined castles, beautiful gardens, and sites of historical interest. Visit Bonawe Smokeries, Cruachan Hollow Mountain, Oban Distillery, Inveraray Castle. Outdoor activities in the area include diving, sailing, kayaking, horse riding, golf, mountain biking and fishing. Glencoe and Fort William are within an hour’s drive and also offer many outdoor sports including walking, mountain biking, climbing and skiing. Beach 13 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
