What could be a beautiful house is certainly in a beautiful location but it is let down by the need to repair & replace items that could make it amazing. It’s advertised as having 2 showers but only has 1 working, the patio door is broken and cannot be used .. apparently both have been in this state for well over a year. We had problems with the tv & encountered a wasps nest on the balcony. I reported both to the owner who said he’d sort things but didn’t. Tatty soft furnishings, towels & an unkept garden all in all make this cottage poor value for money. Beautiful Plockton however is a true gem & I will definitely be back.

Have used this house for some years. It’s position in village is fantastic. House is needing some jobs done, eg hand held shower over bath not acceptable in a house of this standard.... now outstanding for over a year. A few other jobs need undertaken and some replacement of household items would bring this house back up to its initial impeccable state. Hopefully the owner will undertake to remedy.

Great cottage and we love staying there. However we think it was unacceptable for a cottage of this size that the second shower was not working and we had not been warned of this in advance. Also the patio doors which were unable two years ago are still not fixed! This cottage needs some maintenance.

Lovely cottage in lovely location but needs some maintenance and updating ASAP! 2 beds had uncomfortable nylon bedding with pillings/bobbles, one mattress was VERY lumpy and could feel the springs, shower over bath has seemingly been broken for over a year from reading reviews, we had to put a number of dishes through the dishwasher when we turned up (just the kitchen wasn't that clean 're utensils and drawers), there were clothes left in drawer/tumble dryer from previous guests (should ideally be checked during changeover). Door to decking currently also broken from lounge - not ideal if someone is in upstairs bedroom. I would give the cottage better rating if some of these issues seemed recent, but reading previous reviews it would suggest some are on-going and just not being dealt with - no warning before arrival is given nor are they mentioned/fixed on arrival. Some re-investment from paying customers and a bit more due care and attention during changeover would be ideal - I would rebook next year, but only after reading recent reviews to see if anything has been addressed.

A beautifully modernised traditional highland cottage in a prime position on Plockton's front - very well equipped and. We just loved it.

Second visit. We reported the broken over-bath shower a year ago, still not fixed. Arrived to a cold house with no way to turn on heating. Landlord did get this sorted but overall welcome was non existent, not juts the heating but nothing in the way of a typical cottage rental eg bread/milk and above all some logs for the burner in winter. The house is getting tired and needs some tlc and a more coherent caretaker/landlord set-up, perhaps just taking the great location as enough. Having said that it is a lovely house and we love being there. The Sunday-Sunday rule is a problem as shorter breaks in winter would be attractive. Also Sunday starts rule out anyone taking the London night train to Fort William as it doesn't run on Saturday night.
