Sandown Bay offers golden sands, shallow waters, and its promenade provides plenty of long-established independent business run by Island families. An ice-cream or glass of something can break up the 20-minute amble to neighbouring Shanklin Bay. Along the revetment is also opportunity for many water sport activities including equipment hire and lessons.
To travel further afield, the Island buses stop 50 yards at the top of Grange Road. For trains, it’s an equidistant 12-minute walk to Sandown or Lake train stations. For private cars, there is underground parking and plentiful visitor spaces within the gated entrance.
