Flamborough is a renowned beauty spot and a twenty minute stroll from your doorstep brings you to the headland with views down to the little sandy bay where fishermen still mend their nets - it’s hard to believe that this is the East Yorkshire Coast Surrounded and protected by a rugged cliff line that provides excellent cliff top walks and breathtaking views across the RSPB Bird Sanctuary at Bempton and onwards to Filey Brigg. Traditional seaside towns such as Bridlington with miles of sandy beaches and leisure facilities including a swimming pool and spa pavilion is just 3 miles. The seaside resort of Scarborough boasts two beautiful beaches and was featured in the TV series The Royal. A leisurely stroll along the South Cliff and Esplanade affords panoramic views across to the 12th century castle ruins. Offering excellent shopping galleries and museums and of course its very own theatre where plays by the well-known author Alan Ayckbourn can be enjoyed. Other places to visit are Peasholme Park and not forgetting the Sea Life Centre. The historic port of Whitby with its maritime connections 25 miles is home to the ancient abbey ruins. Further inland are the North Yorkshire Moors with many quaint little villages. Springtime demands a visit to the daffodil fields at Farndale. Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo offers a family day out and the market town of Pickering is home to the steam railway where a journey through the Esk valley and on into Goathland - better known as Aidensfield in the TV series ’Heartbeat’ will not disappoint. Historic houses such as Burton Agnes Norman Manor House 9 miles and Sewerby Hall and Gardens just 3 miles. There is something here for all the family. Golf within 5 miles. Shop and pub 700 yards. \n" https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/145/{pixelwidth}/1455169.jpg 16776

Great position for dog walking straight from the front door. Village lovely with good pubs but especially The Rose and Crown, ultra dog friendly and the quiz night every Tuesday was great fun. The kitchen at Kittiwake could do with an update and the downstairs on suite could do with an overhaul as well but other than those two niggles I would book this cottage again. Easy access to the coast from the cottage. Enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful place with great views. Very poor phone reception in the cottage but that is not the owners fault. Most places within easy reach. Lots of places to eat in the village. Fairly well, stocked co_op. Would have been nice to have a couple of side tables in the cottage. Sofas were ok but too soft and difficult to get out of due to arthritis. Altogether a lovely place to stay.

Location of accommodation is brilliant, walks to the coast just outside door. The living area is large and the tiled floors are ideal for dogs, there are plenty of toilets and with 3 bathrooms no queuing in the morning. Only downside was the uncomfortable furniture, settees and armchairs had no support, also down stairs en-suite had mouldy shower and leaking toilet.

We enjoyed staying at Kittiwake., It was quiet and convenient. Lovely walk to the cliffs from the front door. Only bad thing was the noisy floorboards upstairs and we could hear the next door cottage at night too.

Location fantastic, great walk down to beach.nice big 8 seater table for all guests dinning together and nice and cool , needs a good clean and upgrade, poor double mattresses, (came home a night early) fixtures and fittings tired.upstairs en-suite never flushed, socket loose etc. It's a shame because the buildings great but let down by shabby fixtures and fittings, maintenance poor.

Excellent position on edge of Flamborough with lovely walk to cliffs and access to Co-op and restaurants etc. Barn conversion generally good but lack of sound proofing between the various bedrooms - kept some of my party awake. Equipment adequate but not generous eg just enough tea spoons. Very large sitting room - pleasant.

Great location. The cottage has plenty of room for large parties of people. Its on the edge of Flamborough but is close to the local amenities including restaurants. Kittiwake House is also close to a foot path that leads down to the sea. We were very lucky with the weather and had a good time, it's a nice area to explore.

With a few tweaks here and there this property could be so much better. It's quiet, nice and warm, and has plenty of hot water. Bedding was clean, and nice soft towels. Reasonably well equiped with most things that you would need for a weeks self catering holiday. Great location for walkers. What lets it down most of all is the age of the furniture, beds and bedding, which are in need of updating since the barns were converted in 2002/3. The shower over the bath was almost impossible to turn off! A few of the windows to the property did not open. The floor in the dining/sitting room was filthy and had not been mopped. A rug perhaps and a nest of tables would have been nice! Having said this, we did enjoy our week here, and would probably return some time in the future.

The cottage is in an excellent location and a good size for our party of 6. The living area was quite comfortable but a few rugs on the floor and some small tables to put drinks etc on would be a big inprovement. For the price paid we would have expected a few more toilet rolls and dishwasher tablets and soap dispensers. These are features we normally expect when renting holiday cottages. Maybe this is just a feature of East Yorkshire! The owner is a very pleasant lady who responded very quickly when we had a problem with an iron.

Not for you if you want to stay in a clean property. Oven smoked when used although it was a new oven needed cleaning out which I did. Settees needed replacing only 2 chairs comfortable. Bedding could also do with replacing very thin and new quilts. Heating is good downstairs as a plus point.

Lovely cottage perfect for 2 families. Good amenities could be benefit from tumble dryer. Cottage appeared clean on arrival but found clothes labels in drawers and found used underwear at the bottom of wardrobe.
