We had a lovely restful week in Daisy cottage, it was very clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The owners were lovely and friendly. The reason we have given an 8 on the overall rating is that there was no outdoor space to call our own, Daisy appeared to be the only cottage that had no enclosed space to allow our dog to be let out unsupervised which was one thing that was important to our choice of property. It was stated in the features that there was a garden/patio which was true of the other cottages, Daisy actually opened onto the courtyard which was the carpark and Alfie (the dog) would be able to wander into the other properties and obviously there were children about so we had no choice but to keep the dog in. There was a table and chairs outside but it felt like you were sitting in the carpark there was no private area. Also there was no hairdryer not a major thing but a tad inconvenient. That aside we had a great week exploring Scarborough, Whitby and some lovely little villages and towns and the Yorkshire moors and beautiful scenery. There are a few pubs which serve good food, and Pickering is 6-7 miles away for shopping and has a variety of restaurants and tea shops and a Monday market. Would recommend Fortune Inn Chinese take way in Pickering.
