No smoking.\n Bee Cottage is a delightful mid-terrace 18th-century cottage situated in Sandown home to one of the Islands favourite beaches. Nestled on the main road this property is ideal for couples and small families and it retains many of its original features including an exposed stone wall and a traditional bakers oven in the dining room. The cottage has a bright and modern interior an open fire in the living room and an enclosed courtyard style garden.\n\nSandown is a truly traditional British beach resort with a pier pitch n’ putt Isle of Wight Zoo amusements leisure centre with its two swimming pools children’s play area and the Dinosaur Isle attraction at the northern end of the esplanade towards Yaverland and Culver Cliff. The town is brimming with attractions to entertain visitors most of which are on the beach front itself so you never have to stray too far from the golden sands. There are a number of seaside cafés and shops whilst the pier has amusements galore including a crazy golf course. The beach has several places to hire deckchairs sun loungers and windbreaks for you to create your own perfect spot on the beach. The high street which runs parallel to the beach is a short walk from the property and has a selection of arty and tourist style shops along with supermarkets pubs cafés and restaurants.\n\nOutdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding fishing cycling paragliding water sports and golf. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages on this beautiful sunny island. The Needles landmark attraction is a must see and is a short distance away to the west with its chairlift amusement park boat rides lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Why not pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence Osborne House and Gardens or perhaps Blackgang Chine the oldest themed attraction in the UK Ventnor Botanical Gardens Tapnell Farm Park Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes.     We had a great week in this property. It was really well equipped and comfortable. Everywhere on the Island was accessible from Sandown.

    It is just that the cottage was almost on top of the main road, I didn't realise this, must have missed it in the description of the property. Quite noisy. Also felt it was further than 5 mins from the beach and shops (walking). Quite a lot of steps inside the cottage, not suitable for someone with any problems. The cottage was otherwise very clean and all the things you could need. The owners had thought of everything, I notice that many other people really liked the positioning of the property, but not for us.

    We spent an enjoyable five days at the lovely Bee Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped and was spotlessly clean. It was quick to walk down to the beach at Sandown where my children enjoyed the pier and amusements. It was easy to park on nearby roads and there were a great range of activities within a short drive - we spent two fantastic days out at Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill Park. Overall a brilliant holiday and we would definitely go back!

    We had a brilliant time at Bee Cottage. Great location for public transport, walking, lots of things to do, places to visit and lovely local beaches, pubs and villages. Two local supermarkets, restaurants, take-aways and pubs. Parking was easy and free on-road, owner told us where to park before arrival which was very helpful. Great value 7-day bus pass £25 including open-top and island coasters. Cottage was clean, well-equipped, with modern kitchen and bathroom, nicely renovated with lovely personal touches, very spacious with nice open fire and courtyard garden with pretty pots. A great place to spend a week or two.
