Great cottage , dog friendly too so the whole family can enjoy . Pretty village close to the beautiful yorkshire coast and villages . Would love to pay a return visit .

A lovely cosy cottage ideally located to access the coast , country walks and Scarborough town centre while being quiet and peaceful. The welcome biscuits , drinks and doggy treats were much appreciated. A relaxing comfortable garden chair would have been a bonus to fully enjoy the nice weather in the garden. Thanks for an enjoyable break .

The cottage was clean and welcoming. Little extras ( washing up liquid, soaps, tea, coffee, milk etc. were unexpected. Two good pubs, one serving food, nearby. Lovely coffee shop across the road and supermarket five minutes away. You need to take your own coat hangers, which we didn't know, but overall we had a really lovely week.

Beech Cottage is lovely. We had a great short break and Doug the dog was secure in the rear garden. Fabulous comfy bed, great bath and shower. Quiet and well situated for the coast. The village has two pubs, a shop and a great cafe. We’d happily recommend it.

Beach cottage is located in a very dog friendly village...we used both the pubs.....the plough a two minute walk away, serves great meals and it’s very dog friendly, our 13 month young Cavapoo and was made very welcome, the other pub.....the nags head .also very dog friendly was the buzz of the village, it had something on on the three evenings we popped in....the bus stop is just across the road from the cottage....so park the car up and use the bus. The cottage was compact with a long enclosed front garden....it also had a small enclosed back garden with a table and two chairs...both could do with a good cleaning...or replacing didn’t fancy sitting out and having a drink on it...the kitchen had everything you needed in it, could only suggest a bigger toaster as bread didn’t fit into it. ## suggest a couple of tables to eat of off, and shaving a bit off the front door as it was sticking and had trouble opening/closing it.....highly recommend this little cottage nothing sparkling but good enough for us......would certainly book it again and recommend it...

The best room was the bathroom..amazing bath. Bed very uncomfortable and no warning that the stairs were really steep. The cottage was very clean. Area very quiet but issues with parking near cottage. Lovely bag of dig treats. Welcome osck is shortbread biscuits and hotchocolate sachets.. oint if milk. There is no table to sit and eat...the stools are under the breakfast bar but no room to eat due to lack of surface...cant get knees under bar. Ideal for short break.

We loved the cottage and the welcome gifts (our dog was very excited about her gift!) and had a great stay. The cottage was immaculate and very well presented, with an enclosed rear garden which meant we could let our dog roam outside. It's an ideal area for dog owners, with plenty of walks and a cafe and pubs that welcome dogs nearby. When we're away we like to cook evening meals, so the only minor thing missing for us was a dining table, but we made use of the smaller tables available and very comfy sofa instead (which was a nice change). Thank you!

Lovely cottage and village. Ideal location. First time away with our dog. Just right. Nice enclosed back garden and very welcoming dog treats. We would be looking to stop again next year definitely. Did some lovely walks and nice pubs close by. Recommend it.

Had an excellent 4 nights at Beech Cottage with everything we could ask for. Very clean and room for our dogs crate. Door to stairs handy to stop dog going upstairs and gardens front and rear a bonus. There is a passage which runs front to back of the cottage very handy for storage and doggy items. Lots of nice touches, lovely modern bathroom, wireless thermostat and wood burner (which we didn’t need) would definitely stay again!!

The cottage was spotlessly clean, the only downside no table or chairs to eat from just a breakfast bar and no downstairs toilet, there is a lovely outside patio with table and chairs weather permitting. Please note the local pub does not allow dogs on Friday and Saturday rather annoying as there is a sign outside saying dogs welcome.

Absolutely loved our stay at Beech Cottage. Perfect for a weekend get away by the coast, beautiful area and close to shops and pub. Would highly recommend.

Loved the cottage, excellent location, great pubs ( especially the plough) amazing food, the only negative point, we had to leave, however we will return.

Lovely location and setting with good walks for dogs and humans alike. Our two Westies were certainly entertained with local dogs and the abundance of other Westies. The side corridor is excellent for the dogs with access to the garden - a tap and hosepipe would be a good addition for washing mucky dogs? The owner had given thought to securing off the small open points in the garden to keep the dogs in and the dog biscuits were enjoyed by both. Utensils and facilities in the kitchen were good though the oven needs the light replacing and as suggested by other guests a proper drainer would have been appreciated at the sink. The breakfast bar is a good thought in the kitchen however, it is essentially taking up greatly used work surface and the chairs a bit high for the height of the work top - a folding round table at the living room window would have been very useful to replace the arm chair instead of eating meals off of your lap on the settee. A lovely mirror in bathroom however, a mirror is needed either above the sink or chimney breast in the bedroom or both for shaving and makeup. Would definitely go again and have already recommended to others - wish we were staying another week.

Enjoyed a weekend stay at Beech Cottage. Excellent location for exploring the area & plenty walks from the door. Village is quiet with good amenities, pubs, restaurants local shop. Lovely food at The Plough. Doggy biscuits on arrival, tea, coffee, milk for settling in. A very comfortable stay. Would recommend.

Negatives Price was high when not Easter week. Disappointed that some basics lacking....no bin bags, very few matches and fire lighters, very little washing up liquid, noisy boiler at night, outside drain clogged up with leaves created overflow. Had to clear the drain of leaves. No info 're bin day (we checked locally) Positives Very good location, clean and comfortable. Welcome biscuits and milk nice, (but basics more welcome and experience of being provided with many cottages we have booked). Very good garden safe for dog. Parking outside easy. Shop, cafe and pubs nearby with lovely walks. Good TV, books, info etc. If the minor points considered/addressed a lovely location and cottage for two people and a dog.
