    Beech Hill House was formerly an award-winning Bed and Breakfast for 11½ years. Priding themselves on excellence, the owners, who live on-site, have won numerous awards for this magnificent property. Now time for a change, this wonderful cottage has been through renovation in 2019 to include a kitchen/dining room and living room, creating great accommodation for up to 5 guests.

    The apartment covers the whole of the first floor but involves no stairs because access is along the sloping path through the garden, onto the balcony with French doors leading into a spacious and comfortable living room with a sofa, easy chairs and coffee table. There is a selection of jigsaws, board and card games, books, children’s toys, CDs and DVDs to keep the whole family entertained. The balcony is a perfect sun trap and the wonderful garden, complete with garden furniture, has dusk to dawn lighting. This property is truly dog friendly and offers throws, feeding bowls and ‘goodie’ baskets in addition to the spacious garden for them to run and play in. The two king size bedrooms each have en-suite facilities.

    Beech Hill House is the Greyhound Trust South Lakes and has been rehoming greyhounds since 2004, therefore, the property has been specially designed to cater for the needs of both guests and dogs. There are walks from the front door - Latterbarrow Nature Reserve and Whitbarrow Scar, and dog friendly pubs nearby including one just 100 yards along the road.

    The cottage is located an 8-minute drive from junction 36 of the M6, making it an ideal spot for exploring the Lake District, South Lakes Peninsula, Yorkshire Dales and north Lancashire. A short drive away are the Victorian market towns of Grange-over-Sands and Kendal. Visit Levens Hall, Sizergh Castle, the seaside spot of Arnside and drive the coast road to Barrow-in-Furness. Visit Cartmel, for its racecourse and famous sticky toffee pudding, head up the road past Newby Bridge and visit the South Lakes Safari Zoo or follow the road to Bowness along the side the largest lake in England, Lake Windermere. Beach 10 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
