The luxurious quality of Beech Lodge will impress you as soon as you arrive. The spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area of this detached lodge opens out via two sets of patio doors onto a large decked terrace that overlooks the tranquil pond at Woodlands Park, just outside the lovely seaside town of New Quay. Stylishly furnished and accessorised throughout, you will feel instantly relaxed and at home. The living area has a large sofa and a lovely cuddle chair with soft throws so you can curl up and read a book in comfort or watch Sky TV! The large dining table with leather chairs will comfortably seat you all for meals or you can dine alfresco with the gas barbecue. The spacious and very comfortable master bedroom has a TV and a walk-through dressing area leading to a beautiful en-suite shower room. The additional twin bedroom is equally comfortable and there’s a separate family bathroom with a shower over bath. The owners have thoughtfully provided large hotel-style bath sheets and complimentary toiletries and a small welcome pack to greet you when you arrive. The quality of fixtures and fittings throughout is of the highest standard, including granite worktops in the kitchen and bathrooms and lots of touches that you’d expect from a lodge of this calibre.
The park, small and secluded and in a wooded setting, has an abundance of flora and fauna which attracts wildlife, and the park has its own bee and bug insect hotels and a pond with frogs and toads swimming amongst the water lilies. Woodlands now has an on -site clubhouse with a restaurant. The park office also has a good selection of books, games and DVDs available to borrow during your holiday.
There is plenty to see and do whilst you are here, starting with New Quay itself. Clinging to the rocks above stunning Cardigan Bay, the town has a selection of little shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants and of course, fish and chips and ice cream! You must try and spot the resident pods of bottlenose dolphins from the harbour wall or get up close and take a boat trip to see them and the other marine and wildlife. It’s easy to see why poet Dylan Thomas found New Quay such an inspiration when he lived here and you can follow the historic Dylan Thomas trail around the town.
There are 64 miles of coastal path to walk along, where you can enjoy the stunning scenery and of course plenty of watersports, fishing or crabbing. But do take time to explore the other parts of this magnificent County. Nearby Aberaeron is a colourful Georgian harbour town; great for strolling around. Don’t miss the famous honey ice cream whilst you sit on the harbour wall watching the boats bobbing about. There are many events and festivals that take place here throughout the year. A little further up the coast will bring you to the seaside town of Aberystwyth, with its pier and promenade and electric cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill – from where you will get a magnificent view. You can also take the Vale of Rheidol steam railway to Devil’s Bridge and waterfalls – a lovely day out.
After a day exploring you can return to the sumptuous comfort of Beech Lodge, sit back, pour a glass of wine and enjoy your tranquil surroundings. Beach 1½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Excellent accommodation. Luxurious, well appointed Lodge, with every home comfort making a very enjoyable holiday experience. The on-site restaurant served a delicious Sunday Carvery, great value for money too. Great base for exploring the beautiful surrounding area and coastline. We were thrilled to see dolphins in the bay at New Quay on each occasion we visited.
