We were visiting family nearby so the house was a lovely comfortable house, a home from home.

Cottage dirty on arrival including bed linen. No spares anywhere in house. Had to call the contact to get them. Overall rather grubby and run down. Dog escaped the ‘dog friendly’ garden and upset the neighbours!

The photos don’t do this property justice. It’s a lovely, large family home. Disappointed however that there was no outdoor furniture (despite this being listed in the property’s amenities) so we couldn’t make use of this large garden in the summer heatwave. The garden was quite unkempt too which is a shame as we couldn’t just lie out because the grass was too long and it wasn’t great for the kids to run around in as there were too many long weeds and nettles poking out from the borders. Having said that, we still really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it. I went with my two children (18 & 12) and my sister with her two children (19 & 16) and there was enough space for us to spread out and chill out or sit together socially. Ideal location just off the A1 and not far to the local supermarkets in Alnwick (about 6 miles). The living room with log burner will be beautiful to cosy up in on the colder months. Overall, I would recommend and I would go back.

We spent a very nice week at Beechcroft House. Enjoyed the very spacious house, and garden, although not 100% secure atm. My dog got through into next doors garden. Very well equipped, and loved the layout of the place, especially the conservatory adjoining the dining area/kitchen. Everything you could need for a weeks self catering holiday. You must visit beautiful Alnmouth (approx 9 miles away) Would also recommend The Drift Cafe at Cresswell - they have scones to die for. Sure we will be back. Thank you
