A very well presented and equipped cottage in a great location. Only a few minutes from Holy Island and the main Northumberland attractions but in a quiet position.

Good location to explore the north Northumberland coast and surrounding areas. Spacious and comfortable barn conversion with good sized garden - great for families.
lovely cottage, great location. scones when we arrived, poo bag for dog (which I had forgotten).
details like that make a difference. deserve to do well.
Excellent owner who really went the extra mile in her approach with very generous welcoming goodies, not forgetting our dog. Communication was also very good.
We were worried that we might hear some traffic noise from the A1 but this really wasn’t a problem unless the wind was in a particular direction and we were at the far end of the garden. Even then, the views more than compensate, and it was extremely convenient having the A1 nearby for quick journeys. Parking right outside. We liked the different seating areas outside to catch morning and evening sun. The whole development was well maintained and quiet while we were there. The cottage was well equipped and the owner even provided a dog crate, as well as high chair, toys etc for younger visitors. The bathroom would be really practical for those with young children as well - too late for us! Utility room with good sink, washing machine, drier and extra space. Masses of helpful suggestions for things to do in the area - we managed Lindisfarne, Bamburgh, Cragside, Dunstanburgh, Alnwick, beach walks with the dog, and a day in Edinburgh, taking the train from Berwick which is only a few miles away.
It seems mean only to give a 9 for the category ‘Comfort and Equipment’ when we enjoyed ourselves so much. There were just two points which prevented a 10, both of which might not matter to other holidaymakers in any case. The layout of the twin en-suite shower room meant it was a slightly tight squeeze for some adults to use the basin there, though of course this wouldn’t be a problem if children or teenagers are using the room. The double en-suite shower room and the bathroom were both super, and the double bedroom a very generous size. The other detail was the depth of the sofas in the living room, which two of us found made it difficult to sit comfortably for long. But, again, that might be down to personal preference.
All in all a great cottage and I would have to say the most thoughtful and helpful owner from all our cottage holidays over the years. Thank you!
It's a superbly presented holiday home. The owner has done everything they can to make your stay as welcoming and as comfortable as possible. It's the things that you'd normally think 'why's that not provided?'. For example; there's hand soap at every handbasin, there's foil/clingfilm/grease proof paper in the kitchen, there dog treats, bowl and even a dog towel, there's kitchen cloths & cleaning products, there's a selection of toiletries in each bathroom, there's facial wipes in each bedroom. This probably the best one we've stayed at out of the many luxury, dog friendly places we've stayed in over the years. Thanks you.
A fabulous well equipped cottage. Everything was thought about and presented beautifully. Peaceful and very cosy. A perfect retreat if you have a furry friend!
Beautiful property in an ideal location . We’ve already booked for next year. The scones, bread and jam and clotted cream left by Gill just made it that extra special.
We had a fantastic stay here, really well equipped and very dog friendly, will definitely be back and recommend a stay here
Beehive Barn is a top quality holiday let with lots of space and is really well and thoughtfully equipped. The welcome included not only fresh milk and flowers but also some scrumptious scones with cream and jam. My husband and I were able to cook entirely separate meals at the same time without getting under one another's feet in the enormous kitchen. Though close to the main A1(M) we didn't hear traffic, but the windy weather created an atmospheric growl that made huddling on the sofas in front of a wood burning stove even more cosy each night. The barn is well situated for local beauty spots and places of interest but check the tide tables on the notice board if you are visiting Lindisfarne or plan to walk the wide sand beaches.
Wow! What a lovely cottage. The family kitchen was a perfect space for everyone to gather while dinner was being prepared. The lounge was a lovely room to retire to later. The garden was a great size so that we could enjoy a game together. We were very impressed with the soft furnishings, well equipped kitchen, games and even dog equipment (despite not having a dog). Everything really was provided.
