Had a lovely weekend at Betsy Cottage. Key collection was really easy. We read reviews that said the cottage was tricky to find, so we did some research on Google maps before travelling and found it no problem. The cottage is well appointed and clean throughout. The memory foam mattress on the bed is super comfortable, and the bath is surprisingly comfy too - but we found there wasn’t enough hot water to fill the bath, even with the boost on. We didn’t try to cook in the kitchen - the electric oven / hob didn’t look up to much - so we went to the local pub (the Rose and Portcullis) which was fine for pub grub but was pretty pricey!! Really easy drive to Glastonbury, Street, Wells etc. No problem with on-street parking right outside the cottage. Overall we had a lovely stay and can’t wait to return ☺️

This was a very different holiday. The cottage has indeed retained a lot of it's original character & charm, the lack of internet or phone signal was blissful, but for others could be a real problem. It really did feel as if we had stepped back in time & whilst there was no misrepresentation by the description, I don't think we fully appreciated how the lack of a shower & proper cooking facilities would impact. All this aside, we had a most relaxing, very romantic holiday & would happily return for another recharge of our batteries.

Lovely little cottage in a nice part of Somerset. Things we didn't enjoy: No welcome pack as stated in the description. Only wood provided for initial fire - no paper and it sated in welcome pack that first fire would be made up ready to light - not done. Hob and Oven cannot be used at same time - very basic. Frying pan handle fell off but rusty anyway - unable to use. When lying in bed you can hear your neighbour on the toilet (very loud) - not good When in lounge you can hear neighbours conversation clearly through the wall - not good. Parking is non existent as stated and I got the impression the neighbours did not like the cottage being let out. We were asked to move our car twice - owner had told us to park outside the cottage bu the neighbours told us quite strongly to park up the road. No coat or shoe storage. Not enough water (even with boost) for bathing for 2 people. As this is a memory foam mattress we both woke up with shoulder aches every morning. There is a 'smell' in the lounge that smells 'gassy' but as there is no gas to the property we're not sure where it was coming from. Things we enjoyed: Clean and Tidy on arrival. Lovely and warm as electric heaters available. Lovely areas to visit around the property - definitely recommend Wells Cathedral. Local pub friendly. Owner was away herself, so we did not meet her. Seemed very friendly on the phone.

We had a lovely stay over christmas. We were disappointed that apart from a sprig of mistletoe the cottage had no xmas decor. But I took along lights and tree and made it festive. I think the owner should consider doing this going forward. The cottage was initislly difficult to find and after driving up and down a few times we parked up and found a meighbour who was lovely and went out of her way to show us. The cottage is lovely. Just a few points Negatives.. One teatowel to last the week wasnt sufficient The cooking facilities had been explained as basic but were worse than I feared as the hob couldn't be used at the same time as the mini oven.. this made making xmas lunch arduous. The smoke alarm would go off even though youd not burned anything.. needs an extractor fan as cannot open any windows. Need somewhere in the hall to put coats and shoes especially in winter. Need a loo brush.. we had to go out and purchase one.. the flush isnt the best and for £2 in tesco the owner could supply new to each new let. Lastly the fire instructions were for a different fire. Positives.. The cottage was lovely and clean. Great location for surrounding areas.. we visited beaches.. the tor..wells cathedral.. glastonbury abbey.. and went on many walks. The cottage is warm and cosy so if fire cannot be lit then the main source of heaters keeps you warm and snug. The bed gave me the best sleep I've had in years and I have missed that mattress since we came home. The bath was lovely .. very deep and comfy. We only met the owner on leaving when dropping off the keys but she was friendly and chatty. I would recommend to others.. but I'd warn of the negatives too X

Lovely cottage in a quite village. Great for a weekend away with some peace and quiet. Tricky to find in the dark on first arrival. Thankfully owner gave good directions on the phone previously but still had to park and look on foot to be sure had the correct place.

A small quirky cottage, perfect for two. Clean and tidy when we arrived - easy arrangements for key collection. Very quiet location tucked away from the road in the centre of a delightful quiet village. Made a great base for a days walking in the area, wonderful views from the hills above and even down the village street to Glastonbury Tor. The kitchen is extremely well equipped although cooking facilities are simple and work space limited but more than sufficient for a holiday. Plenty of hot water and we had no need for a supply of logs for the stove as it was warm enough without - had the windows and doors open to enjoy the fresh air!! Only problem - the village shop closes at 1pm on Saturday - should have checked that one for ourselves - it is well stocked with a good range of everything as we found on Friday and which could have been good to enjoy on Saturday.

Absolutely charming cottage in a delightful village. Sympathetically renovated to maintain all the character and history. We loved all of it and would return in a heartbeat.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. The woodburner is a treat, as is the local pub. The only thing that would improve the cottage is a proper cooking facility.

A beautiful cottage with lots of history and character, not far from all the attractions in a car. Very welcoming and friendly owner.
