It's a huge house so plenty of space for a large party. The pool area is suberb for kids. The whole house needs a bit of a make over especially the plumbing and we did stagger showers etc. One of the bannister spindles fell out which could have been dangerous, fortunately none of the kids were close by. The pool area does make up for any short comings so we would return but I think a full make over is due in the next couple of years.

Only downfall was the heating not being on on arrival so was really cold. The photos on the website certainly don’t do it justice. It was massive!! For 3 nights away at £100 per person, what more can you ask for. We’re now booking up for Feb 2021.

We were there for a large family get away. We had an amazing time. The property catered well for a large group with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms as well as a huge dining table that we were all able to sit at and eat together. The only problem we had was that the heating was set to a timer and it became uncomfortable at times it was so hot. If that could be rectified it would be perfect.

Terrific accommodation for a gathering of friends and/or family.

Had a wonderful family get together at Mill House. Amazing house plenty of space. Loved it.

Very spacious. Plenty of room for our party of 11 to spread out. Very quiet, rural location, yet still close to a main road, for easy access. A few DIY jobs needed doing - several of the light bulbs in a chandelier in the lounge area weren't working, and according to the maintenance book, this had been reported and not dealt with. A couple of bedroom doors in the smaller wing did not shut properly. It was good to have a timetable for the pool, so that each cottage had a private session each day. We all fell in love with Yorkshire. Lovely book shop and wool shop in Thirsk. Aysgarth Falls are beautiful, and we all enjoyed our visit to Stump Caves.

superb large family cottage, premium appliances, the real log fire was great, loved the heated swimming pool with great facilities, loads of bathrooms, had a wonderful time with a large family holiday, will definitely be booking again only thing that needs improving is the internet, which is very poor

The Mill House is a bit dated in parts but is a great size for a big family holiday.

House and pool were great for us. Some problems with various things - fridge doors didn't seal closed so stuff got hot, Window in upstairs bedroom had no gutter so rain dripped down from roof into room via open window, loo seats were loose and turned round in use. Curtain in downstairs room over door had to be lifted to open door (too long) and there were many dead insects under it. We completed the maintenance book for all things wrong so hopefully they will be fixed. Accommodation was good and we found plenty of spaces for such a large group of 16 with ages 2.5 - 75 yrs. We would go back if opportunity arose. Our main problem was outside seating was poor and there was no shade. Also, no place outside which was grassed over and suitable for children to play.

A great place for groups needing space and comfort. Journeys to York, dales, moors and seaside, were enjoyed by all. Many pubs with excellent restaurants were a short drive away. The pool area was perfect for daily exercise and relaxation. We appreciated the polite, prompt and helpful service to solve some minor issues.

House was amazing, worked perfectly for us. Rota system for the pool was also perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful, characterful and very clean large house. Having two dishwashers is a dream when catering for 12! Everyone enjoyed the pool and the large social spaces, especially breakfast in the sunny courtyard.

We had a super family holiday, plenty of everything you could want. Spotlessly clean, spacious living and dining areas. Few minor maintenance issues which we left details of. Great food and friendly staff in Carlton Arms Supermarket and town 15min drive into Thirsk Enjoyed the pool, was warm and some inflatables for you to use. Deposit refunded promptly.
