Fantastic cottage! Wonderful location, so peaceful and quiet. Very dog friendly, dog bed, towels, bowls. Perfect! Really clean and very well equipped. Cosy homely feel. Lovely modern bathroom. The lighting is a bit dim in the living room but don't let that put you off. Super little cottage! Ooooh also the garden is beautiful!

Black Cragg has the potential to be a lovely holiday cottage, but it's not there yet. The sitting room is gloomy, with poor lighting and no coffee table. The bedrooms lack bedside lights, so it's difficult to read in bed. The freezer and dishwasher are next to a toilet in the utility room, so you have to place items on the toilet seat when loading and unloading! And there is no basin to wash your hands after using this toilet. But, credit where it's due, the kitchen and bathroom are excellent, and there is good wifi and phone reception. Oh, and the garden is lovely. I hope these issues are sorted out before too long, as I should like to visit again in the future.

The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and had lovely views with a great, if steep, garden at the back with two good seating areas. It was a little further away from the village than we had thought and on a steep hill but the village of Staveley has very good amenities and parking was easy to find. We're not exactly in the first flush of youth and my partner found the steps from the back door into the garden a bit of a trial but, apart from that we enjoyed staying there and our dog loved the walks.

Cottage cold, garden not suitable to keep dog enclosed. First night there our dog escaped into neighbouring garden and as they didn't have a gate went straight out into the road, which meant every time she wanted to go out had to put her on a lead and walk round garden.

Overall very good dog friendly accommodation (bowls, blankets, bed provided). Would have got excellent but for the following: Shower pathetic minimal flow that keeps cutting out, lounge storage heater fixed at low and not able to turn this up - wood burning stove slow to get going.

Excellent. Location is beautiful. River runs in front of cottage and hills behind. A good base for walks at kentmere and 15mins walk to a nice pub in staveley. Really well equipped and cosy.
