This cottage has everything you could think of to make your holiday as relaxing as possible, and the cleanliness was first class. It is in a peaceful location, but not too far from some amazing lakes such as Derwent, Buttermere, Grasemere and Rydal to name a few. The owner Jane was very welcoming and left us some amazing scones, with jam and cream, which was a nice touch. Would definitely go back again and recommend to others.

Blackbeck cottage is beautifully restored with love and care ,in a great location. Jane the host is lovely and very welcoming and we really appreciated the scones and wine. She gave us a great tip to walk our dogs at nearby cogra moss where the dogs enjoyed swimming and paddling in the hot weather. We had great days out at nearby loweswater, crummock water and buttermere. We would highly recommend the kirkstile inn for it is stunning location and food. We also had meals at the t nearby Royal Yew pub at Dean which is at about 20 mins walk and you can take your dogs inside. We also visited wild Ennerdale water ,where the dogs loved swimming and also visited the lovely cafe at Ennerdale Bridge called The Gather. What a great week we had, thanks again Jane. We have just enjoyed a fabulous holiday at Blackbeck. Spotlessly clean. Kitchen better equipped than mine at home! Lovely attention to detail and tastefully furnished. Ullock is a charming village and perfectly positioned to explore the NW Lakes. Highly recommend and we will definitely return.

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Recently refurbished with all new appliances. Village very picturesque with river and great footpaths. Loved our time away with peace and quiet, watching the lambs in the field in front of the cottage, listening to the stream to the rear and sitting in front of the log fire. Bed was a bit smaller than use too but other than that no complaints.

Very comfortable, clean, and well equipped cottage on the edge of an attractive village. It was cosy in the evening with the wind and rain howling outside (Our visit coincided with storm Gareth!) The beds were comfortable and having two showers was great. The house is within walking distance of lovely countryside. We had good walks with our two dogs. Our only issue was that the garden was not fully enclosed, which meant that we could not let our dogs out in the garden unaccompanied.

Absolutely beautiful cottage, immaculate and everything you could ever need is there. The owner Jane welcomed us with a friendly smile and gave us lots of local knowledge along with some home baked scones. She even called us to let us know about a road closure nearby! Definitely will be back!

Well-presented, clean and comfortable cottage. Good range of serviceable cooking equipment, etc. We really enjoyed our stay and the owner was keen to make sure we were well looked after. Located in a small village so very quiet, but Cockermouth is just a 20min drive away. Would come again in future.
