Private parking for 3 cars. Please note The property has a natural water supply from a spring. The access to the property is by a remote single track road and very steep driveway and there is an unfenced stream 220 yards away.\n\n In what can only be described as a true rural location Blackclough Barn dates back over 100 years and offers magnificent panoramic views over the Peak District Derbyshire Cheshire and Staffordshire countryside. Beautifully furnished to a good standard throughout Blackclough Barn is linked internally by a large shared boot room to Blackclough Farmhouse making them perfect for one large group or two completely independent families. Blackclough Barn benefits from a superb wood burner making it warm comfortable and full of rustic character with a galleried landing.\nLocated in a Site of Special Scientific Interest which legally protects the surrounding wildlife and geology and with only the sounds of the flowing river and sheep as neighbours the location is remote and just perfect for relaxing and re-energising. Ample outdoor pursuits are available locally including walking mountain biking and climbing. Although remote England’s highest village Flash complete with local shopcafé and local pub serving traditional food is just 1½ miles away. The spa town of Buxton is just 5½ miles providing ample amenities and tourist attractions and a number of other Peak District towns and villages are within easy reach including Bakewell home to the magnificent Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall Hartington and Tideswell which can all be reached in around ½ an hour.     Need to explain to bookers how remote cottage is. In winter probably inaccessible due to steep roads to cottage. If icy or snowing it would be extremely difficult to access.Two smaller bedrooms very cold and extremely damp. One had dehumidifyer in it which we had to us every day. Cottage well equipped and sitting room with fire very comfortable. Very intermittent wifi and poor to no mobile signal.

    A great cottage to escape from the world. Cosy and spacious with spectacular views. Could do with a freezer rather than an ice machine but otherwise very well equipped.

    Amazing location but the hill up to the house is like Everest, I kid you not, 4 wheel drive would be ideal, I failed twice in our Galaxy so husband took over, in ice or snow you could be stranded. We booked the barn for 6 people but only comfy seating for 5, cozy lounge with heating and log burner and the beds were very comfortable. Well equipped. Highly recommend The Knights Table for food back on main road.

    A lovely Barn conversion with an amazing view. Picturesque countryside and lovely walks straight from the cottage. Knights Table local pub food is a 5/10 but ok for a meal. Now i have to mention the road up to the cottage is VERY steep, if you have a particularly low or underpowered car, you are going to have issues getting up. It destroyed my car, took it out of action for 3 days whilst it had to get repaired. The AA man couldn't get his van up to fix me. I know this is not the cottages fault but something you need to be aware of. The pictures do not do justice to the steepness. I haven't let this incident affect my rating as i understand it is not the cottages fault! Internet is seriously low speed, almost unusable. Certainly no more that one person at a time. I proboably wouldn't go back, but it was lovely to go once.
