Often referred to as ‘the first and last village in Yorkshire’ the pretty village of Burton in Lonsdale nestles on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. With the Dales, Lake District and beautiful Lune Valley all within easy reach, there is an eclectic range of activities and entertainment to keep you as busy as you would like to be. Castles, ruined abbeys, stately homes, historic market towns and picturesque villages, with their narrow streets and independent shops to explore, are all within easy reach of the cottage. The area, characterised by dry stone walled farmland, is a cyclists paradise with a vast network of routes for both road and mountain cyclists. Lace up your boots, the area is perfect for either a gentle stroll or a more energetic hike to reach the summit of one of the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks or discover the stunning limestone pavement at Malham.

Life is about sharing special moments that stay with us forever. Bluebell Cottage, your home in the country, is a marvellous place to make memories. Shop 100 yards, restaurant 3 miles and pub 350 yards.

Lovely cottage but in a poor location. The village itself is lovely but the immediate areas to the side and rear of the house are disappointing.

Lovely cottage with great care to minute details to keep the visitors comfortable. We had a great family hiking holiday coming back to a cosy place with real fire to rest and relax.

An exceptionally well equipped and comfortable cottage, representing great value for money off season. Clean, modern and warm within with the added bonus of off street parking. A great base for exploring the Dales, Lakes, Lancashire borderlands and coast. Don't worry that the property is less quaint than it's older neighbours from the outside. From inside you won't be disappointed.

This cottage is really cosy and a great place to come back to after a day walking. It has everything you need for a relaxing holiday and the decor is to a great standard. There is a small space at the back of the property to park one car which was fine for us as we only have a Fiesta but it might be a bit difficult to manoeuvre if you have a really large vehicle. It was lovely and clean and and both bathroom showers were a perfect temperature. Although its located on a main road (the High Street) we didn't have a problem with the traffic noise. The village shop (run by the community volunteers) had everything we needed and we shopped there every day for local produce and all essentials as they were so friendly. The location was perfect to visit the Dales, Blackpool and the Lake District. We will definitely book this cottage again.
