• About Bluebell

Enjoying a pretty coastal village setting and just 500 yards from the sweeping sands of one of England’s finest beaches, these cottages are part of Town Farm Cottages which were created from a 17th century stable and coach house. An ideal holiday base, these attractive, cosy and comfortable properties, five of which we offer here, sit on a courtyard in the heart of Beadnell village, a popular venue for water sports enthusiasts and boasting a picturesque harbour as well as a shop and two pubs serving food – all within a few yards’ stroll. Two miles to the north, Seahouses offers a variety of shops and tea rooms, a leisure centre and superb golf course, and boats depart regularly from its working harbour for fishing trips or to visit the Farne Islands’ famous seal colonies and bird sanctuaries. A further 3 miles up the spectacular coastline, a deservedly recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, lies Bamburgh – dominated by its splendid castle – whilst the causeway leading to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is a little further. An easy 12 mile drive south reaches the market town of Alnwick with its castle, renowned as the film location for Hogwarts School and beside it, Alnwick Gardens, an exciting contemporary space featuring gloriously vivid planting, stunning water displays and one of the largest tree houses in the world. A nicely decorated cottage, let down by inattention to detail. The directions sent were to the wrong property and we had to call the caretaker to find the cottage. Fortunately Dave was available and helpful. Only one towel when we arrived, resolved by phone call to Dawn. The heating and hot water were inadequate, the heating needed bleeding but there was insufficient pressure - Dave was informed and he let the owner know but there was no action while we were there; we needed to use the kettle for washing up. Tourist information folder was all for last year. Overall impression was very unwelcoming, we recommend a welcome pack and visitors' book so guests can share ideas for eating places and attractions. As there's no garden, a seat outside would be an improvement.

Comfortable cottage, well located for coast and inland tourist sites. Wi-Fi almost non existent. Double mattress rather firm. Overall a nice cottage in a nice location.

The cottage was in a perfect location and came with parking. We found the footage to be very well equipped, fantastic value. My only criticism is, i was sent directions to the wrong cottage and bluebell does not have a name on the door.

The cottage was lovely . The wi fi was not very good at all . The local pubs were very expensive for food. Went into Seahouses to eat out. Apart from those minor things we really enjoyed our stay .

We enjoyed staying in Bluebell. A number of minor issues, that if addressed, would have improved the experience. The radiator in the lounge could not be turned off - so despite it being 27 degrees outside, the radiator was on full for three hours in the evening (making it uncomfortably hot) and two hours in the morning. We asked for this to be sorted - we were told it would be looked into - it was not resolved. There was only a back door key - no front door. So you could go out of the front - but not come in that way. It would also have been useful to know that Bluebell is number one and had a horse head on the back door - no name plate !!! Would have avoided the confusion of trying to locate the property on arrival.
