    > Approached by an impressive driveway flanked by trees, these converted former stables buildings occupy a picturesque setting in the grounds of Georgian Grade II listed Blyth View, once serving as a workhouse. Now converted into residences with extensive grounds and a resident’s leisure facility, Blyth View enjoys an elevated position above the Blyth Valley. Surrounded by open countryside, it makes a tranquil setting, yet the Suffolk Heritage Coast, and the towns of Southwold and Walberswick are a mere 10 minutes’ drive. Dunwich, Minsmere bird reserve, Aldeburgh and Snape are all within ½-hour drive. Shop and pub ¾ mile.

A good size cottage with adequate space for our family of 6 adults and 2 babies. Very nicely located in extensive grounds benefitting from access to an indoor pool and gym. Adequate parking for 2 cars and a small garden but access to the wider grounds meant good open space. The cottage is quite well furnished and equipped. There was only 1 bathroom and a downstairs toilet. This created our main problem as we discovered on the first day that the only shower did not work. I reported it to the caretaker and She arranged for an electrician to look at it he concluded as I had that the shower thermostat had gone. Despite the best efforts of the caretaker it took until the day before our holiday finished to get a replacement shower installed. The owner has agreed to compensate us for this inconvenience. We despite this setback have a great time the shower at the swimming pool was a life saver. The area around the cottage offers some amazing walking with footpath access into the Blyth valley and a network of footpaths just 200 yards along the road. There are a number of good pubs within 3 miles and the coast around Southwold is superb. There is a good coop at Halesworth just 4 miles away. The addition of a second shower in the downstairs toilet and an upgrade to the main upstairs bathroom would turn this cottage into a first rate venue.

Our time at Lime Tree Cottage was very relaxing and enjoyable. The cottage was immaculate and so pretty. Driving up to the cottage was magical (my 3 year olds words) with the driveway or trees. I have 4 children, youngest 8 months and eldest 9 years. Three of them are autistic and finding a suitable holiday home is a nightmare! Lime Tree cottage was perfect as it was minimalistic, laid out spaciously and the decor bright and fresh. The place itself was very quiet and my three were able to enjoy their holiday. The pool was fantastic and we spent a good few hours in there. We didn’t have time to use the gym! The only issue we had was the shower. It was either freezing or burning - there really was no in-between.

A lovely, well equipped cottage marred by a poor shower and water system. The cottage is well kitted out for families with babies. It had a cot, highchair, stair gate and a selection of baby utensils for feeding. There are loads of games and dvds for kids. The pool on site is lovely, as is the games room. We didn't use the gym but it looked well equipped. The property has a lot of character but beware of the sloping ceilings in all of the bedrooms, noisy door latches and warped bathroom/toilet doors and see through blinds on non-frosted glass which don't offer a great deal of privacy particularly at night time with the light on in the bathroom. The biggest downside of the property is the shower, which can only be described as a trickle. One moment it scalds you with hot water then freezes you with cold water the next, even when no other water is being run in the cottage. There was also no Wi-Fi available, which would have been very useful, as we had no mobile phone reception so couldn't research days out as we had no data connection on mobile phones. The location of the property is, however, excellent. We visited Lowestoft for the beautiful sandy beach, Southwold, the owl sanctuary at Stoneham barns, Africa Alive and RSPB Minsmere, all of which were within 45 minutes car drive.

Lovely cottage, location and pool. Fire wasn't great and underfloor heating can't be turned up, which isn't ideal in November!

A beautiful, clean and spacious cottage for a Suffolk family getaway. There were 7 of us, a baby and a dog and we had plenty of room (granted, the 14 year old was on a pop-up bed in parents’ room). The development is lovely, set in the countryside just a short drive from Southwold and Walberswick. It is remote, and the nearest pub is probably half an hour walk on a country road, but that didn’t bother us. Plenty of amenities in Halesworth too - about an 8 min drive. Pool and games room were nice additions. Would love to go back!
