This was my second visit and I'll definitely be back. Beautiful scenery, wonderful setting for relaxing and recharging batteries. Plus of crucial importance, great for dogs-lots of walks on the doorstep.

Wow .what a stunning location. Very clean. Beds comfortable and settee.Ceiling spotlights open plan. Bath and overhead shower It had enclosed yard great for us letting dogs out at night. Large area of land adjacent to site can walk for dogs plenty of doggy bins on site always looked to be emptied daily .Have our own dusbin outside door .Both husband and I loved it. Owners are lovely. We will hope to go next year . Only downside are shops and petrol stations. So you need to top up also internet only in reception. But on the plus side lots of places to see. From castles Homesand gardens Hadrian's walls.Been out every day and still not seen all. Loved it.

Excellent weeks break. Only downside was the kitchen and bathroom windows seemed to back on to the shower block resulting in some clinical smells coming through the windows.

We were surprised that it was called a cottage, when it is in our opinion a lodge, as were the newer buildings clustered nearby. The photograph of the property was skewed towards the left-hand side which showed the next property along. The outlook from the front is the stables and behind we had no views at all. It is a pity because it is homely once inside but not quite inviting on its approach We understand the 'cottage' was originally a pair of motel rooms, which had been made into into one lodge. once inside we were perfectly comfortable. It is well placed if you want to be on either side of the borders and from there we went over Carter Bar three times. it was very good to get to Kielder lake via the Forest drive, with its new visitor look at at the Nick. Good also for the Roman fort at High Rochester and up on the Cheviots at Chew Green. Visitors should be made aware when they book that they should fill up with fuel before leaving Corbridge just off the A68. There is 24 hours fill up at Jedburg but normal hours at Bellingham (closes 6:00 pm) and car only at Kielder. Otherwise Alnwick is the nearest to the East. we found the staff very helpful and very friendly. They are proud of the local Forestry and the area which few are ever likely to experience. We had mixed cool weather but missed serious flooding elsewhere. We would consider staying at Cottonshopeburnfoot if we wanted to be back in the area again
