At the end of a quiet, terraced street of traditional houses in the coastal fishing village of Findochty, this ground floor apartment has been carefully furnished to make a very comfortable and relaxing holiday base for couples, or small families. The wonderful rear garden, accessed directly from the garden room, has a distinctive, tropical feel with exotic palms alongside poppies and other colourful plants, giving the impression of stepping out into an island paradise!
Just a short walk from the bustling harbour, there is a pub serving food where you can watch the comings and goings of the marina at your leisure. There is plenty of heritage to explore on this coastline and activities such as walking, sailing, fishing, diving, cycling and golf available locally. During the summer the daylight hours are very long, providing every opportunity to enjoy the quality of the local scenery. The amazing coastline ranges from steep cliffs with little fishing villages strung out at the base to fantastic sandy beaches especially at Nairn and Lossiemouth, further west. There are many historic castles and gardens to visit from the spectacular ruined Findlater Castle to Duff House in Banff. Pleasant cliff walks can be enjoyed to the neighbouring villages of Cullen and Portknockie where the natural wave cut arch known as Bow Fiddle Rock can be seen. Beach 400 yards. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 400 yards.

Last minute booking. Welcome pack very generous specification. Very cold outside at minus 6. Cottage very warm with comfortable beds. Clear that lots of attention to every detail has been made by the owners. Perfect for us. Recommend Royal Oak Hotel in Cullen as they allow dogs and the food is good and reasonably priced. Plan to stay again later in the year. Saw 3 young deer in the back garden at 10am one morning.

We enjoyed our week at Bracken View. Good location for taking scenic walks from the door, we walked the coastal trail to Bow Fiddle Rock and also handy base for exploring further afield. We visited Fyvie Castle, Spey Bay, Pennan, Crovie, Portsoy and Cullen, easy drives from Findochty. Spent a couple of afternoons watching the seals at Portgordon. The apartment is warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean Pretty garden, which would be lovely to sit out in, alas too windy and chilly for most of our stay. Our two little dogs liked it as did the visiting deer we saw twice. There was pretty much most of the equipment we required to successfully self cater provided, and big plus point not only a teapot but also a teacosy, hurrah! A small shop in Findochty and a big Tesco and a Lidl a short drive away in Buckie. The welcome pack on arrival at the apartment was thoughtful and generous, we enjoyed all of it. Would happily return and recommend to others.

We enjoyed a very happy holiday. The hosts were generous with what was provided, and obviously wanted to help us make the most out of our time here. It was warm and comfortable. Even the dog was well catered for.
